A New Old Way to Pray
An ancient Jewish form ofprayer, still in use today, in-volves sprinkling ones day
with short prayers of gratitudeto God. The prayer typicallybegins: Blessed are you, O
Lord our God, king of the uni-verse, who and concludes
with a phrase that fits the spe-cific situation. Such a prayerworks well in good circum-
stances and bad. For example:
Blessed are you, O Lord ourGod, king of the universe, who
has provided clean water formy shower this morning.
Blessed are you, O Lord
who brings friends to supportme in my grief.
Blessed are you, O Lord
who has blessed me with akeen mind; please help me fo-
cus while I take this test. Blessed are you, O Lord who holds my children in un-
conditional love.
Try using this form of prayerliberally as a way to pray
without ceasing (1 Thessalo-nians 5:17) and to weave your
faith throughout your day.

Be in prayer for our
Baltimore Mission Team as
they finish up ministry
today and travel back home
tomorrow.
Also, be in prayer for the
Ott Family as Andy and
Jan are still traveling here,
there and everywhere
visiting their various
partners in ministry and as
Hannah will be at the Teen
Mission base in Honduras
sharing the Gospel using
sports. God is so good!

strong and precious gospel of Jesus Christ.
26 Thank You, Lord, for our retired mis-sionaries in North America and around theworld. Their strong examples of faithfulservanthood inspire us. Minister to them inways that will bless and encourage them.Remind them what they continue to do inYour name matters.

Its All in the View
Three people were visiting and viewingthe Grand Canyon -- an artist, a pastorand a cowboy. As they stood on the edge
of that massive abyss, each oneresponded with a cry of exclamation. Theartist said, "Ah, what a beautiful scene to
paint!" The minister cried, "What awonderful example of the handiwork of
God!" The cowboy mused, "What aterrible place to lose a cow!"
