EFFECTS OF PET BOTTLES
FEEL
Plastic marked with an SPI code of 1 is made with Polyethylene Terephthalate, which is known as PETE or PET. Plastic drinking bottles contain many chemicals, some of which interfere with hormones in the body. Phthalates are endocrine-disrupting chemicals that have been linked to a wide range of developmental and reproductive effects, including:
•Reduced sperm counts •Testicular atrophy or structural abnormality •Liver cancer
Phthalates have demonstrably blocked the action of fetal androgens, which affects gender development in male offspring.
