The “Gideon Principle” – clarifies which “volunteers” (transfer growth) you want with you.

Critical Questions… Who is your target
group? What do you know
about them? Which felt needs are
you seeking to meet? How? Strategy? Style? Where will you begin?
Your first priority?
What will be your Keys to making more and better disciples?
Which activities will first attract people’s attention?
How will the church meet felt needs of your target group?
How will ongoing care be provided?
How will new disciples be matured? Trained to reach others?
Gather the Pieces/Key words… Target group & needs… Ministry process… Desired ends… Core values & style… Uniquenesses… – no one
church fits everyone. What will you not
compromise?
“Measure” Your Draft Mission Statement…
Does it show: Your heart? Passion? That you know the people
you will reach? That you know how?
Is it accurate? Enduring? Succinct? Memorable? Energizing?
Making it Memorable Five to ten words The summary you will
place in front of your people again and again
(Remember: Vision must be recast every 30 days!)
