This Web Quest will help the students to learn about one of the oldest animals in the world, the Shark!. It has been told that most people are scared of sharks (probably everybody), that is usually because of the way they look. It is true, that they look scary but, let’s see what is behind that ugly look of sharks.

• Students will get familiar with four different types of sharks.
• Students will learn about their food habits, habitat, size, colors and how dangerous there are for humans.
• It will be required to describe any distinctive characteristics for the specific shark that they are studying.
• Every shark has his own behavior, it will be required to describe their behavior around other animals and around humans.
Group One
Group one will be studying the Hammerhead Shark
1. What is the cientific name for the Hammerhead Shark?
2. How big can they grow?
3. What do they like to eat?
4. Are they dangerous to humans?
5. Where can we find these types of shark?
6. Give at least one characteristic that describe this shark.
Group Two
Group two will study the Tiger Shark
1. What is the cientific name for the Tiger Shark?
2. How big can they grow?
3. What do they like to eat?
4. Are they dangerous to humans?
5. Where can we find these types of shark?
6. Give at least one characteristic that describe this shark.
Group three
Group three will study the Whale Shark
1. What is the cientific name for the Whale Shark?
2. How big can they grow?
3. What do they like to eat?
4. Are they dangerous to humans?
5. Where can we find these types of shark?
6. Give at least one characteristic that describe this shark.
Group four will study the Great White Shark

1. What is the cientific name for the Great White Shark?

Process
1. The name of the four types of sharks to be studied will be placed on the board.
2. The students will decide which shark they want to study.
3. The students will vote for their favorite shark.
4. Once the students had choose their shark, they will be separated in groups accordingly to the specific shark.
5. Four groups will be formed, each one of them will search the web looking for information about that shark.

6. The students will present a Shark Identification
Sheet(S.I.S.)
7. The students will include all the questions and
answers in the way they appeared in the questions
and task slide.
8. On the specific date, each group will stand in
front of the class and defend their shark type
against the other groups.
9. Each member of the group will say what they like
the most about the shark that they just studied.
