i.e. to call on God”. It is
used to refer to the act of
conveying or calling people
to the message of Islam.

Da’wah is an obligatory duty (Fard) for all Muslims. There are lot of verses from the Quran which proves it.&
There are lot of references from the Quran & Hadith which prove Da’wah is a duty of all Muslims:
• “Invite (all) to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and reason with them in ways that are best and most gracious: surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way." (Sura Nahl:125)
• "And it is thus that We appointed you to be the community of the middle way, so that you might be witnesses before all mankind and the Messenger might be a witness before you." (Sura Baqarah:143)
• "You are now the best people brought forth for (the guidance and reform of) mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." (Sura Ale-Imran:110)
• "Who is better in speech than one who calls (people) to Allah, works righteousness, and says, "I am of those who bow in Islam"? (Sura Fussilat:33)

• Convey the message, you’re not there to convert. Only Allah SWT guides whom He wills!
• Have patience.
• Explain Tawheed with priority.
• Ask for the name.
• Listen to your visitor with your eyes and ears.
• Maintain eye contact (same gender).
• Use Open Gestures.
• Determine beliefs of your prospect.
• Use Simple language.
• Be straight-forward.
• Remain focused – Avoid confrontations.
• Identify needs, obstacles and issues.
• Focus on Misconceptions.
• Be positive.
• Use “Good” and “Yes”
• Find Similarities before differences – Get a “Yes” first.
• Avoid Obstacles – Phone calls, interruptions, etc.
• Golden Rules – Ask for Shahadah, even if not fully convinced.
