Drawing on extensive experience, from acareer spent at the forefront of CIS andCyber security, within both the Greek Armyand NATO’s CIS and Cyber Defence domain,the workshop shall benefit from the guidanceof Major General Vasileios Raptis
Major General Vasileios Raptis, former Assistant Chief Of Staff(ACOS J6) CIS & Cyber Defence at Supreme HeadquartersAllied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Headquarters, took over hisduties on 21st May 2013. He was responsible for directing andoverseeing all CIS and Cyber Defence function areaactivities across Allied Command Operations (ACO), at alllevels of command and for all ongoing operations andexercises. His main duty was to execute strategic planningconcerning the CIS & Cyber Defence support to NATOoperations enabling effective joint, land, maritime and air
operations, in order to contribute to the realisation ofSACEUR’ vision and mission. In particular, in his capacity herepresented the operational requirement holder on behalf of the NATO Enterprise regarding the development of NATO Wide C3/CIS and Cyber Defence capabilities.Moreover, he was responsible for exercising, on behalfof SACEUR, oversight of all operational aspects regarding the development, management, acquisition and/orimplementation of major communications, command andcontrol, or intelligence (C4I) systems, programmes and/orcapabilities that deliver CIS & Cyber Defence services andsupport to ACO
In March 2015 he was promoted to Major General and uponthe completion of his assignment to NATO he formally retiredon 27th July 2015
