The many forms of cyberbullying: Flaming – Online “fights”
using angry and vulgar language.
Harassment – Repeatedly sending offensive, rude, and insulting messages.
Denigration – Sending or posting cruel gossip or rumors about a person to damage his or her reputation or friendships.
The many forms of cyberbullying:
Impersonation – Using someone’s account and sending messages that would classify as one of the other forms.
Outing / Trickery – Sharing someone’s secrets or embarrassing information or images online of tricking someone into revealing the same information online.
Exclusion – Intentionally excluding someone from an online group.
Who are cyber bullies?
** From a recent classroom-based survey of a random sample of approximately 2,000 middle-school students from a large school district in the United States.** Students were asked whether or not they had experienced cyber bullying.
