Mississippi Beef Quality Assurance Program Coordinator
(2001-05). Charged with overseeing development of
educational programs for veterinarians and producers
in the area of BQA training. Worked very closely with
the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association.
MSU Integrated Resource Management Oversight Committee
(2002-03). Committee works with MCES, CVM, MAFES
personnel, and private producers to administer the IRM
program in Mississippi.
Mississippi Johne’s Disease Advisory Committee (1999-
04). Charged with developing an epidemiological survey
of beef and dairy cattle to determine Johne’s
incidence in the state of Mississippi. Also, develop
a set of standard regulations for a voluntary
certification program.
Mississippi Integrated Resource Management (IRM)State
Coordinating Committee (1992-1998). Working with the
executive board of the Mississippi Cattlemen's
Association in implementing the state IRM program.
Maximum Immunity - Minimum Stress Program Committee
(1992-1998). Monitor and evaluate extension sponsored
preweaning calf health program (approx. 5000-6000
calves per year). Program was merged into Southeast
Pride Calf Health Program in 1996.
Mississippi Farm to Feedlot Project, Animal Health
Committee (1993-1997). Preweaning and preconditioning
program recommendations for cattle consignments
(approximately 400-500 calves per year).
Industry Service:
National Stocker Award Judge (2006-08). Reviewed
approximately 30 applications per year to pick the best

stocker operation in the country. Sponsored by Elanco
Animal Health and Beef Magazine with a $10,000 award.
Reviewer - “NCBA Cattle Learning Center – Reproduction
Module”. This center serves as an information source and
learning tool for cattle producers. June 2005. Sponsored
jointly by NCBA and Pfizer Animal Health.
National Cattlemen’s Beef Association – Producer Education:
Animal Health Working Group (2004-05). Charged with
developing producer educational materials for the National
Cattlemen’s Foundation and Pfizer Animal Health.
Elanco Animal Health – Beef Advisory Group (2001-05).
Provide consultative services on research matters with
tilmicosin, monensin, and ractopamine in cattle.
AgSpan – Veterinary Advisory Council (2000). Provide
consultative services on matters related to development of
e-commerce for strategic alliances.
Diamond Animal Health - Veterinary Advisory Council (1995-
96). Provide consultative services on matters related to
development of cattle vaccines.
