• CRB checks are required for people working with:– Vulnerable adults– Children
• 2 types of checks:– Standard– Enhanced

• Staff – Managed by Personnel• Students – Managed by the Academic Section
Students need CRB checks:• When required for work placement/research
What is the CRB application process?
• Completion of a CRB Application form• Provide ID documents in person• Form signed by a CRB Countersignatory• Disclosure certificate received from CRB• Escalated to Department/School/Centre,
Academic Registrar & Lead Countersignatory if necessary
Changes to the Student CRB process
• Academic Section responsible from 01/2008• Operated a decentralised process• From 08/2008 commenced implementation of a
centralised process– Online CRB application– ID checks by Systems Administration Office
• Rollout during 2009
CRB Implementation Plan
• 08-09/2008: New checks for MSc Health & Human Sciences students students
• 10-11/2008: New & re-checks for Biological Sciences students
• 01/2009 onwards: All other Departments/Schools/Centres (new and re-checks) as checks occur
