Convergence Principles
SOARS Sort: In order to make sense of what is often hundreds of possibilities,
they need to be grouped into meaningful categories related to time, market demand, availability of resources, type of possibility etc.
Order: Possibilities within a viable categories can be ranked against
pre-established criteria to create an order of preference Adapt: Once likely possibilities have been identified they can be
expanded and adapted to create even better ideas
Refine: likely possibilities need to be bullet proofed to find the weakspots and possible failures
Select: Ideas are only ideas until they are implemented and to be
implemented they need to be owned . Getting the right people totake ownership in the idea is a critical piece of the process

The Ground Rules of Brain
Storming
Suspended Judgment Criticism is ruled out. Adverse judgment of ideas must bewith held until later. Do not evaluate
Free - Wheel Free wheeling is welcomed. The wider the idea, thebetter, it is easier to tame down than to think up. Let
mind drift.
Strive for Quantity Quantity is wanted. The greater the number of ideas, themore the likelihood of success. Aim at, say, a hundred
ideas in a period of 15 to 30 minutes
Combine and Improve Combination and improvement are sought in addition tocontributing ideas of their own, participants should
suggest how ideas of others can be turned into better
ideas; or how two or more ideas can be joined into
still another idea. Hitch Hike on other peoples
ideas.

associated idea. Then take each of those "child" words and again draw 5
to 10 main ideas that relate to each of those words.
Make the branches closest to the center thicker.Use images, symbols,
codes and dimensions throughout your Mind Map.
