Dear First Suit Project Supporter,
It is with great pleasure that I announce that The First Suit Project (TFSP) raised enough money to provide
TWO Scholar With A Gift (S.W.A.G.) Scholarships in spring of 2017! The two scholarship winners were Mr.
Kevin Lopez from The University of the District of Columbia and Mr. Todd McCauley from North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical State University. Both students were elated to receive the S.W.A.G. Scholarship
and they are now officially a part of our TFSP family! Don't miss their testimonies on pages 7 and 8.
As we continue to carry out TFSP’s mission of fully equipping well deserved college students that attend
Historically Black Colleges and Universities with the appropriate business attire and other resources that
will enhance their personal brand, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to become a sponsor of our
S.W.A.G. Scholarship. Our goal is to award at least 2 HBCU students per semester (Fall & Spring) with the
scholarship. With your sponsorship, we will be able to achieve our goal of blessing more students with the
opportunity to receive a personal shopping experience to obtain brand new business attire, and personal
development mentorship from the TFSP Board of Directors. Details on how to become a TFSP S.W.A.G.
Scholarship Sponsor will be discussed within this document.
Sincerely,
Crystal Williams, MBA

S.W.A.G. Scholarship Recipient's Testimony
"When I received an email about the SWAG Scholarship application, I made sure to apply. As a full-time student at
the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of the District of Columbia, business attire is a
necessity for certain events on and off campus. However as a part-time worker, budgeting for business attire is not
always possible. Therefore, I was ecstatic when I found out i was the latest S.W.A.G. scholar and the recipient of a
new suit. It truly was a personalized shopping experience. The only previous times I had been measured for a suit
were for rentals. This time, it was for my very own suit. Mrs. Williams and her husband made sure everything
was covered. I even got to pick out some dress socks! I walked out of the store feeling like a million bucks ready to
take on the professional world. I plan on wearing my suit for the first time to an upcoming conference in Los
Angeles with one of the Big 4 Accounting firms. There are other events I will attend like the NABA Eastern
Region Student Conference where business professional attire is a must. I also plan to wear my suit on campus as
my university often hosts highly-admired guest speakers from within the business community. I'm grateful The
First Suit Project offered such a wonderful scholarship as it provided me with the appropriate attire for my
upcoming endeavors and I encourage all fellow students to apply. Thank you Mrs. and Mr. Williams and everyone
else involved with The First Suit Project for the scholarship and experience of a lifetime." ~Mr. Kevin Lopez
S.W.A.G. Scholarship Recipient's Testimony
" When I received the email notifying me that I'd won the S.W.A.G scholarship, I was excited, of course, but also
somewhat apprehensive. Up to that point, I had never owned a suit before and had a limited knowledge of
professional attire. I feared that because of this, I would end up with something that I wouldn't completely enjoy.
The shopping experience definitely mitigated those fears. You and your team spoke with professionalism,
knowledge, and straightforwardness, but also maintained a colloquial tone so that I could follow along with each
decision. It was truly a 'First Suit Project', as I ended up with my very first business suit at the closing of the trip
which only made the scholarship opportunity that much more special. I have always strived to be a scholar, but
now I have the professional swag to match. I have only excitement for the next men and women who will have
the pleasure of working with you. I wish your organization future success and longevity. As always, AGGIE
PRIDE, and thank you again for such an awesome experience." ~Mr. Todd McCauley
