These dumpshave not only defaced the Colony but are emerging as spots whichcould prove health hazards in coming times. The residents havebeen pleading to the authorities to keep the area clean by makingprovision for regulate sweeping of the lanes and placing dustbinsat different points in the colony, but there is nobody is redress thisissue. Besides street lights too are not functioning properly. Mostof them have fused. Therefore it is requested that the JMC takeseveral measures to keep this Colony clean.

Scarcity of water in Vivek ViharThis is to draw the attention of the PHE authorities towards

the scarcity of water in Lane 1, Vivek Vihar Paloura. This area hasbeen experiencing this problem for last several months. Afterlodging complaint with the concerned authorities in this regard. The situation improved a bit particularly in November month. Butthe situation was to back to square one only after two months.Today residents of this area receive water only for 30 minutes thattoo at a low pressure. This has created great inconvenience to theresidents here.

However, it may be not out of context to mention here thatwater problem has been created by value operators who work asper their whims and fancies.

Hope the authorities will wake up to this reality.Jatinder Kumar Gupta

Repair Trikuta Nagar LaneThe attention of the JMC authorities is drawn towards Mandir

Lane (H. Nos. 139-150), Sector 5 Ward 54, Trikuta Nagar,Jammu. This lane is in deplorable condition as the drain passingalong requires immediate repairs. The water flows onto the roadsurface at several places. This dirty them gets collected in pot-holes that have emerged in the lane.

This has made the life of people quite uncomfortable. It is expected that JMC blacktops the lane as well as repairs

the drain.Rajinder Kakkar

Welfare Committee Roop Nagar Enclave Block ASarai at Charan Padika

Charan Padika is just three kilometres away from Banganga.Process of getting flat land acquired there at Charan Padika had

been initiated. A Sarai type accommodation needs to be construct-ed there. Because more than fifty percent of the yatries to ShriMata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine consist of quite ordinary persons ofmeagre means. One find them being trasnported in overloadedvehicles. Even for a night stay they remain confined in the avail-able space of these vehicles. Because they commit afford to stay inhotels. Therfore, in case of there being Sarai at Charan Padika theywill certainly flock to Charan Padika on arrival at Katra.

I have heard some of my friends at Katra describing this sec-tion of yatries (who do not stay in hotels) with quite disdem asChouna Plucker lot (paddy farmers and wheat producers whopluck the corn).

In bygone period Shri Vaishnodeviji yatra remained just forthree months. Yatries then stayed at the house of Katra residents. And that was wonderful adjustment.
