You know you’re an ostomate when…
• You have a favorite "Ensure" flavor.
• People ask about your guts, before they ask about your family.
• You have more photos of your insides that the outsides.
• You have a spare pair of underwear in your bag/pocket.
• You give directions via toilets rather than by restaurants.

Diet & Nutrition
Keep a “Food” journal Times, amounts, results including meds
Fewer “feet” is better 0: Fish, 2: Chicken/turkey, 4 feet:
beef/pork Half the plate: veggies, ¼ plate protein,
¼ carbs Fluids, fluids, fluids: 64 oz min.(check
w/ doc) Illies require more hydration
Diarrhea is our enemy, lomotil is our friend
