PURPOSE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
SPONSOR APPROVAL
• APA created the Office of CE Sponsor Approval to facilitate psychologists’ access to CE programs.
• The office oversees the APA-approval process for sponsors.
• The APA Continuing Education Committee works with the office to establish, implement, and regulate standards and policies for CE programs.
© American Psychological Association, 2015. All Rights Reserved.
• In order to evaluate sponsor satisfaction with the approval process and changes made after the Spring 2014 survey, a second survey was sent to all of its approved sponsors in June of 2015.
• Sponsors were asked about:– the nature of their organizations and their history of CE
approval;– programs they offer, homestudy programs;– the application process;– and their communication with the office.
• The results will be used to improve processes related to CE sponsor approval.
