The theoretical state of the plant is compared with the observed state in real time, identifying through this system the values differing significantly from the theorical value. These deviations will be defined as malfunctions of the facility. In this way, maintenance costs and losses caused by lack of electricity production are minimized, which results in a substantial improvement within the exploitation phase of this type of power plants.

Occupational exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in solar thermal plants: early analysis
This project addresses the research on the consequences for the health of workers operating in solar thermal plants and being conitnuously exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons within the development of their activity. The aim of the project is to achieve a better understanding of the real impact on the occupational health, as well as of its etiopathogenesis. This will allow the design of more effective strategies at both individual and collective levels. In this project, the latest scientific and technological advances necessary for the detemination and definition of molecules, which are capable of functioning as biomarkers of exposure to PAHs, will be considered, as well as its optimal clinical values, and the rationale and design required for launching a clinical, observational and prospective study.
