1 Definition Condyloma acuminatum(also known as condyloma
acuminata, genital wart or venereal warts ) is a proliferative
disease caused by human papillomavirus of some types.
Slide 3
2 etiology The primary human papillomaviruses(HPV) that cause
condyloma acuminatum are: HPV 6 HPV 11 HPV 16 HPV 18 all are
mucotropic viruses
Slide 4
3 transmission and epidemic main way of infection the contact
infection is the main path of the condyloma acuminatum the
infectivity is the most strong in the stage of about 3 months.
Infrequently it could be spread by contaminated pants, bathtub or
towels and so on. It is contracted by close contact without sexual
behaviour in family. And fetuses are contracted by the infected
birth canal or the close contact with infected mothers.
Slide 5
4 clinical manifestation The incubation period is 1 to 8
months(usually 3 months) and the leisons appear primarily in and
around the skin or mucous membranes of the genital area.
Slide 6
Lesions The lesions start with soft erythrous tiny papules
which are sarcoid mammilliform ecptomas, range in size from
pinpoint to mung bean, with the rough surface.then the papules
growth into size of peanut kernel cauliflower-like or comb
shape-like huge pedunculated masses develop from mutual
confluence, which are easy to bleed during sexual life. Erosion and
ulcer may develop when blood supply is not sufficient in the warts
or secondary infection is existing.

Relationship with neoplasmata genitalis It has been confirmed
that condyloma acuminatum is associated with the cancer of the
genital, especially carcinoma cervicis. The development of about 15%
carcinoma of penis, 5% cancer of vulva and considerable cancer of
anus is on the long-term foundation of condyloma acuminatum.
Slide 19
5 histopathology acanthosis vacuolus bulliform cells are
present in the superficial or superficial middle epidermis,
trochanterellus is thicking and prolonging with papillomatous
hyperplasia.
Slide 20
6 diagnosis and differential diagnosis sexual behavior outside
of the marriage or mate with a history of infection typical lesions
histopathology inspection when it is necessary
Slide 21
7 treatment topical treatment 0.5% podophyllotoxin tinctura 2
times daily, 3 days is a course of treatment repetition needs an
interval of more than 4 days, pay attention to preserve the normal
skin or mucous membranes around warts. It can cause abnormal
embryos and is forbade to using in the pregnant women. laser and
hypercator cauterize or cut the warts

injecting interferon or transfer factor for condyloma
acuminatum of recurrent attacks, taking Chinese traditional and
herbal drugs orally,or topical treatment with interferon
cream..
