KINGFISHER – THE COMPANY
KINGFISHER is a private limited company and was established through two Trusts - Yohanis Settlement and
Khusi Trusts in 1995 with Henry Sisya ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker as its Managing Director.
Initially it was established as an agent to provide insurance services for assets purchased under lease or hire
purchase arrangement.
A year later in 1996 KINGFISHER became a broker and probably most successful broker in Malawi by
understanding and working with not only the local insurance market but also the Lloyd’s of London.
We have three offices situate:

Market share is a highly subjective issue, and every broker will find their own method of promoting their
services and success. Invariably each method will differ and because information is not freely available
within the insurance industry it is not possible to give an estimate.

Henry M. Sisya ACII – Managing Director
A professionally qualified Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of
London and is a Chartered Insurance Broker.
He has worked in insurance broking for 29 years and is versed in all aspects of underwriting and claims
handling. He has the overall responsibility on
your company operations.
Ronald M. Jere – Operations Manager
Over 18 years experience in insurance and has worked for both insurance companies and insurance brokers
in senior capacities. He is conversant
with all aspects of insurance broking.
He has made considerable progress towards qualifying for the Associate ship Diploma of the Chartered
Insurance Institute of London with only 2
subjects to complete.
Lawrence A. Sapanga – Regional Manager (South)
Has vast experience having worked for the Clarkson Not cut and Aon Hogg for twenty years in senior
capacities handling all aspects of insurance underwriting and claims.
He is pursuing the Associate ship Diploma of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London with success and
also received training at the CII College in the UK.

Harry Sambani – Branch Manager (LL)
A holder of a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) degree and a certificate in Insurance from the Chartered
Insurance Institute (UK). He has over three years experience in insurance broking both in claims and
underwriting and four years experience in Microfinance.
Mercy C. Dzowela Phiri (Ms) - Unit Manager (B)
Has more than nine years experience in insurance broking services. A holder of Bachelors Degree in
Business Administration (BBA) and Certificate in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute.
Tamanyana Chirambo - Assistant Unit Manager (A)
A holder of Advanced Diploma in Business Management from Association of Business Executives ( ABE -
UK) and a certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII- UK). She has over three years
experience in insurance broking both in
claims and underwriting.

6. Negotiating with insurers on behalf of our Client on all matters of Insurance such as: coverage,
excesses levels and claims
7. Acting promptly on instructions from our Client and ensuring that written acknowledgements and
progress reports are provided;
8. Maintaining precise records of past claims.
9. Collecting and remitting premiums;
10. Where appropriate and dependent on the size of the portfolio, providing additional services, such
as risk management services and uninsured loss recoveries;
