it must stand the test of time. COLORBOND® steel won’t
rot. It won’t be eaten by termites. When installed correctly,
it won’t have any vertical gaps, visible footholds or loose
palings. It’s also non-combustible and resists the progress
of fire3. So you can be sure COLORBOND® steel will enhance
the privacy and security of your home for years to come.

Australian Standards and backed by a warranty of up
to 10 years from BlueScope4. So your decision to choose
COLORBOND® steel will give you peace of mind that
you’ve chosen a quality material to last for years to come.
It’s all about how it’s madeTested in the harshest Australian conditions over the last 50 years,
your COLORBOND® steel fence is far more than just ‘paint on steel’.
1 The structural steel core base is made to meet Australian Standard AS 1397,
ensuring strict adherence to the highest quality grade and finish of your steel.
2 The steel base of the fencing panels is coated with Activate™ technology,
BlueScope’s industry-leading metallic coating that enhances anti-corrosion
performance.
3 A thin pre-treatment layer is applied to enhance the adhesion of further coatings.
4 A polyester primer is baked onto the surface.
5 A topcoat of specially developed exterior grade lead-free paint (compliant with
Australian Standard AS 2728) is baked on for enhanced resistance to chipping,
peeling and cracking and to ensure the finish retains its look for longer.

3 MAKE SURE IT’S THE REAL THING Not all coloured steel fencing
is made from COLORBOND® steel
so be sure to get what you pay for.
It’s easy to check; fencing made from
COLORBOND® steel is branded with a
subtle laser engraving (on either side of
the fence) at least three times on each
2.4 metre fencing section. If you can’t
find the engraving, then the panels are
not genuine COLORBOND® steel.

1 FIRE RESISTANT Wherever you live in Australia,
fire resistance and resilience are
increasingly important. Of all the
materials tested on different types
of fencing in a bushfire testing
project conducted by the CSIRO,
COLORBOND® steel performed
the best under all exposure
conditions, including testing used
to simulate the potential effects
of an adjacent house fire3.
4 GETTING THE LOOK COLORBOND® steel fencing comes in a wide
range of panel styles and designs. With sleek lines
and no exposed railings, COLORBOND® steel looks
great on both sides of the fence. You can choose the
fence or gate design you want and personalise it by
adding lattice, slats and post caps.
Make it your own. With your choice of colours and
profile, you can design a fence that will blend in or
stand out – whatever your preference. Check with
