About the Author I have worn many hats Garbage Crew, Janitor, Painter,
Maintenance, Geologist, Surveyor, Engineer, Public SchoolTeacher, College & University Professor, and Photographer, since I
first began working in 1983.
Of late, I have become a philosopher, seeking to emulate the
passion and service to humanity that greats like Dr. King, Jr., andGandhi and others performed in the 20th Century. I feel a deep
need for a 21stCentury version whom serves all of humanitys
needs for peace, and economic and human rights equality.
I believe people should be more concerned with helping others
first, and then helping themselves later. I believe as long as one
person on the planet has no home, is starving or thirsty, has their
human rights trampled on and are abused, and people are
prisoners of conscious in places without human rights, the human
condition is in need of repair .

Chapter OneThe Psychology of Acceptance
The case of The Bird insight into how perception changes our
view of reality (Sub-title)
If I were to use word association, and give the clue Bird, whatwould you the readers think? How would you respond? Think for a
moment the first thoughts that you think of when you read this. Now,
what if I asked you to visualize the bird? Can you do so? What if I
were to ask you all to imagine the sound of the bird? What do you
hear or would you think you would hear? What are the properties of
the bird you can describe to me? Can you say anything about thesize, the shape, the color, the species, the constructional elements,
the movements, or the feel of the bird? Can you tell me where the
bird lives? Can you tell me about its family? Can you tell me about
its lifestyle? What else can you possibly imagine perhaps, how it
might look stuffed? Of course, that word too has multiple meanings
can you think of how many?
In the absence of information, or context, there can be a huge variety
of possible meanings and interpretations related to this solitary word
bird. Now, let me explore with you all, dear readers, some
perceptional challenges on the next page.

Perception of Challenge The word is the bird. We have on the previous page, explored a
myriad of possible ideas we create in our own minds, related to the
concept of the bird. We are influenced in our mindful wanderings
and musings by our own past experiences, our own toolbox of
learning, and of our cultural or worldview experiences. Let us
discover together, what happens when I now toss into the situation,
a multitude of perspectives.
Your best friend tells you how beautiful the bird she just saw was
what comes to mind now, that may or may not have been there
earlier?
A sports fan says they remember when the bird was one of the best
pitchers on the Detroit Tigers now what comes to mind? Anyone
see that one?
A friend of yours said he saw your least favorite person give the bird
to him has your view of what the bird means changed at all?

The Movies Inspire Me We just read a very brief expository of how word usage alone, needs to be socially
defined, and the knowledge of such meaning socially constructed. It is the
programming of the environment around us, as well as our own inner passions and
interests that can point us either in the intended direction or the wrong direction the
speaker or writer meant. Let us explore now what happens when folks spin an
issue and how that affects us in our views and beliefs about the validity.
Factual data The temperature, pressure, and humidity of the outdoor environment
at location A is 70 degrees F (21 degrees Celsius), decreasing pressure
overhead, and 90% humidity.
Here now is where personal opinion changes the meaning of the actual factual
informationthe temperature outside at A is a pleasant and gorgeous 70 (21)
degrees, with a cold front moving past, and some low fog in the valleys. Compare
this view with this oneThe temperature outside here is a sticky hot and muggy
70 (21) degrees, with decreasing pressure, a bad hair day alert with the high
humidity in the air, and a danger to drivers on the freeways out there keep your
lights on. Compare this to the following statement the temperature outside is aperfect warm day, with just enough humidity in the air to make for awesome fog
shrouded photography, and with a high chance for precipitation and storms, adding
to the drama of todays weather, a perfect companion to this Halloween season.
Or this viewThe weather is bad today, with high temperatures (for Alaska this
time of year), lots of fog for the bush pilots to consider, and a high chance of
stormy precipitation later today.

We see how whom we know can create or mold meaning for a
variety of words, as well as the emotive value attached to such
words by others. Lets explore some other forms of what I am
weaving together here like strands in a basket underwater
Factual Data 1- People on earth have a variety of shapes, sizes,
colors, and physical attributes. 2 Quizzes were given to volunteer
subjects of a variety of ages, genders, ethnicities, and religious
backgrounds. 3 Scores were calculated and demographic and
personal attribute data were cross correlated
Spin Time 1- Those with foreign sounding names got the lowest
scores in reading and writing English. 2 females scored lower in
science than boys. 3 People with Blue eyes scored the highest of
all test subjects. 4 Folks from a particular geolocation did better
than people from elsewhere. 5 Those whom were a particular
ethnic group, or religious affiliation scored well below average on allsubject matter. 6 Those whom wrote the test knew all the correct
answers(!). 7 - The test is a valid and accurate measurement of
student knowledge.

The Freedom Writers Call us All to Question it all
This past year, I finally got to see the movie Freedom Writers (as well as
PBS Freedom Riders). The movie does an excellent job of highlighting great
teaching techniques and how some of us are in it for the right reasons (as
opposed to those whom are in it for the pay alone), as well as sowing theseeds of young adults to be critical thinkers and questioners of what they
see, hear, or read.
Taking the previous page, one must ask what each of the 7 claims made in
the spin section mean, and how to know when and where to ask questions.
Many of the statements I wrote, use a literary device that should bring to mind
issues such as stereotyping, racism, discrimination, and intolerance. Thefirst rule of control is to create a problem in peoples minds that
perceptionally there is a problem with one group or another. Every nation at
war does this with regards to the enemy War brings propaganda campaign
and ideas such as Dirty Japs, Jews as Devils or subhumans, the Evil
Hun, The Axis of Evil, Axis or Allies, Friend or Foe, Eye for an Eye, and
so on.
Once demeaned, berated, scapegoated, and dehumanized, then it becomes
easy to sway entire peoples to believe that those not like you and I, are in fact
a grave danger, a problem that needs a final solution, and a whole nation
thereby supports such ideas.

The Psychology of Pseudoscience Decades ago, a brilliant study was performed where students were told that those with
blue eyes, were of superior intelligence, and therefore, they would be getting final
grades of A, while those with other eye colors, were ranked at progressively lower
and lower final grades. The reaction is a landmark study in psychology. We see today, in our world, where people we hold in high esteem, or look up to, or are
in positions of authority, make claims, to which we simply believe it to be true because
it must be so, since they said it was so. Teachers, Politicians, Religious officials,
Scientists, and TV Reporters all give a view of the world, through tainted glasses.
Unless one deals in specific facts alone, everything ever said has subjectivity included
in its very utterance, or writing, or singing, or painting, or whatever. Only facts alone
are objective, and even they can be subjectively manipulated to spin one side of a view
or another.
Consider the question as to the validity of a test being a good measurement of a
students knowledge? So much is at stake with high stakes testing that determines
whether schools stay open, continue to get funding, or teachers stay in the classroom,
yet in reality, these tests are all multiple guess, fill in the blank questions, that has one
right answer, one or two sort of close answers, one wrong answer, and one bogus
answer. Those whom can play the game, those whom have some knowledge, canprobably do a elimination round, to figure out which answer might be right, or not.
Give the same students a blank sheet of paper, with only questions on it, where they
have to answer with their own words, their own sentences, with no clues for or
against, and you may get different results as to whether students know the subjects or
not.

Years ago, there was a moonlighting episode that referenced a Shakespearean lesson from the
Taming of the Shrew, where one is asked is it the moon or the sun that shines during the day. The
point of the matter, is similar in ways to some of the prisoners dilemma concepts, where control is all
about getting others to believe that what you believe is what they too believe, even when they did not
originally. Star Trek NGT has also done shows exploring this human element. When people
anywhere, whom are held as being somewhat truthful in their statements, link A with B, then by
reverence, we believe A and B are in fact linked. What one does not know is if this is factual, orsubterfuge designed to create a mindset leading to a possible desired outcome.
Go back to the original query about the bird which of the views of the word were the one I meant
when I asked the question? Well, it would depend on whom told you additional information about the
bird, would it not? If your best friend, a presumably reliable source, said the bird was attractive, you
might envision plumage like a peacock or a parrot. If your friend was a baseball player, you might
think it had to do with a pitcher for the Tigers. If your least liked person said something about giving
the bird, you might envision a bad word, slang. Of course, giving the bird could also mean simply
passing the bird from his arms to the arms of the other person, as a gift. Now remember thetemperature and humidity problem the facts are what they are, but the spin, really changes how you
view such data as something pleasant, or something to fear, or something to be in awe of. Same
data, just different perspectives. Now, think to the idea of people with eye color being smarter than
someone else, or that people whom look different than you, are somehow sub-human, or are the
enemy. Perspective is important when it comes to determining how to react to any news story, or to
any event, or to what anyone says or claims to know. More than a decade ago, NASA scientists
presented to the world, some meteorite, whose chemical analysis and electromagnetic investigations
provided proof positive that life was elsewhere. Carl Sagan was one of the vocal critics of such a
story, and offered us all words to live byextraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. The
story, like Cold Fusion a decade before that, were found to be of insufficient truth to be real.
Remember that folks, the next time anyone tells you, that these people, (fill in the blank) are the cause
of this problem (fill in the blank). We should all, everywhere, in every nation on Earth, of any
ideology, and every gender or ethnicity, be critical in believing what those in authority tell them about
whom is to blame for anything. One only think of Hitler and his condemnation of Jews in Germany
as the cause for the problems there, with the result being 6 million people murdered, gassed, shot,
and butchered in self delusional acceptance of a fallacy idea.

I do have a sense of humor, and it is one of the techniques I
used in the classroom all the time, including random Ad-Lib
jokes, canned humor, and on the fly humor to match the
situation. In fact, the singular award I ever got from students
was in 2003 from Baker College, from the Student body, for
using Humor in the classroom and making learning fun. So,here I share a small collection of my own jokes I made up,
often while being inspired sitting on the honey bucket I use

Current News Issues
Recent polls have begun to circulate about whether certain aspectsof social services is constitutional or not.
One must recognize that many of those saying such social
endeavors as being not the federal domain, are those whom make
so much money they would never need such services in the 1st
place
Those whom promote the status quo, as the way to maintain things,
only do so, because they themselves benefit from doing so. Once
the shoe is on the other foot, the concept of capitalism is quickly
discarded by anyone with no money, no home, no retirement, no
insurance, and so on. Capitalism only works when there is enough
money to do what is needed once there no longer is enoughmoney, some other system must be tried, or the inevitable results is
decline in standard of living and less and less social and humanistic
services offered, including education, police protection, fire
protection, EMS, libraries, lighting, sanitation, and environmental

Foreclosing on homes proves
banks are in it for money alone
For any mortgage company or bank to foreclose on a home, rather than torenegotiate the debt, is a lose lose lost game, with no winners.
When banks foreclose, people get put on the street, kids, and pets too (some
even get abandoned with the home)
Cities lose on all the tax money lost and on the decrease in property values,
thereby leading to reduced city services
Banks lose the value of the home, and so lose too, with little or no return onthe investment
So, if foreclosing makes losers out of everyone, why is it a game that even
gets played at all?
Far better to renegotiate the loan, reduce the payments, reduce the interest,
spread out the debt longer, than call in the debt for doing so, makes it seem
like the banks are in it for the money alone, yet the stupidity of it all is, theyend up losing money on the deal, where if they would keep the deal alive,
would still be making money, and people would still have homes, and
housing values would not plummetin the end, the banks incompetence to
see the end result of their own greed has made losers out of us all

When creditors threaten you - The pursuit by creditors of bad debtors, the suing of people, the
attachment of liens, the garnishment of wages, the rejection of
employment for bad debt, and the harassing phone calls, intimidation, and swearing, or even repossession, all prove one thing that money
alone is more important to some, than being a follower of Jesus, or in
loving our fellow human beings
No Christian should ever be a debt collector, for Jesus himself begs us
all to forgive and move on, not to do harm to others, and to not chase
greed and profit alone When money becomes more important than human lives, the system
must end
Human lives should never have a value attached to them, for they are
beyond price
Money itself as a concept must be tweaked to a concept where it only
enables people, and never inhibits people from doing the great thing The best way to get back at any creditor, is to go bankrupt, to voluntarily
give back what they want, for in dong so, they lose all control and have
zero power over you

Debt as control Debt has been used for centuries here in the USA and elsewhere, as a means
of control The economic hit-men prove that one of the best ways to obtain power, is to
get others in debt, to string them out, and to get them so in debt to you, that
you begin to start telling them what to do, what resources would work in lieu
of money on the debt, that the debt is more important than serving ones
own needs, and asset transfer such as ports, infrastructure, oil, or contracts,
all lead to absolute exploitation in the end There is one absolute way to end the power of control debt has over people,
states, and nations discharge the debt, nationalize the assets owned by the
debtors, and go bankrupt as a person, nation, or whatever, and stick it to
those whom abused you. In such action, there becomes freedom, and with
freedom comes liberation and equality for all of your people.
When debt is more important than food, education, housing, medicines, then
the debt is bad debt, and must simply go away. Refuse to pay on it and
refuse to acknowledge its powerthe power to say NO to debtors is
something they all fear most of all for once people say no more to the
concept, their power over people and nations ends

The lesson not learned yet In the early 1970s, there was a oil embargo, with the result being no gasoline
here in the USA for a period of time
President Carter, in the late 1970s, set forth official US policy of energy
protection - energy security
In essence, energy security meant securing the oil
Compare this policy to Brazil, whose population of 150 million or so (1/2 the
USA) uses almost 100% domestic sources of energy such as biofuels for its
energy requirement no need for importation of fuel, and no foreign military
needs
Since the 70s, the USA has fought 3 wars in the general area of the middle east
(4 if you include Libya), to secure the oil
We remain addicted more so than back in the 70s even George Bush Jr.
remarked we are a nation of addicts
My SUV gets 13 mpg it was made in 1990. In the 4 decades since the oil
embargo, corporate average fuel economy standards for vehicles is now in the20s or low 30s, with President Obama pushing for low 50s by 2025.
It took only 1 decade to go from Yuri Gagarins orbital flight and Alan Shepards
sub orbital flight in 1961 to land boots on the moon in 1969. It has been 4 times
that long since the oil crisis of the 1970s and yet the world consumes oil at an
unreal rate25Free E-book - DRM free, written by Michael Jeffrey

Humans have used weapons to murder each other for thousands of
years in fact, the Ice man mummy from the Alps, some several

The mere presence of having a gun makes it much more likely that
someone will die, either from someone shooting someone else, or

From my cold dead hands (holds up a rifle)
Since the assassination of Dr. King in the 1960s, around 1 million people have
been victims of gun related violence here in the USA alone source the Bradycampaign web site
How many people are killed by knives, baseball bats, mugging, and so on,
versus how many have been murdered by guns
It was access to guns that made mass murders out of the Norway Shooter this
past summer, the Fort Hood shooter, and the Arizona shooting early this year
Seems to me, people would rather protect the right to bear arms, than the dutyto protect our fellow humans from those whom use such arms to murder others.
Far better to get rid of handguns and all weapons not useable for hunting
purposes alone

In a world where accidents occur all the time
Should this planet, and our species, have tens of thousands of nuclear weapons, in a
dozen or so countries spread across the planet, on alert, moments from nuclear
annihilation of some enemy? The only reason anyone has the bomb today, is because someone else has the bomb
The psychology of fear drives states to want to be nuclear, to protect themselves from
others whom are nuclear as well
Accidents occur all the time. Look at these accidents or natural disasters, and ask
yourself do you trust a world with tens of thousands of nuclear weapons, when just one
singular accidental launch and detonation, could incinerate millions instantly?

Gunboat DiplomacyRedox 2
Gunboat diplomacy, the usage of military assets to promote a
diplomatic agenda, has been the US status quo since the days of
Teddy Roosevelt Such a posture uses fear of direct military intervention to achieve ones
goals.
Such a geopolitical game, creates an image of the US as a potential
threat to others. Psychologically this leads to other nations building
up their own military forces, leading to arms build ups, and potential
increases in tension, rather than decreasing potential for conflict
Such a force posture is offensive by nature, and is not what one would
do for defensive purposes alone. Power projection, by definition, is a
threatening psychological game.
We do this for decades to those we do not like, yet when they do the
same to us, and send ships off our coasts, we act as if that is sowrong. Wait til China someday starts this off of our coasts
The best way to promote peace worldwide, and to reduce arms
expenditures as a planet, it for all nations on earth to only be litorally
defensive in nature, as opposed to projecting power

Some random thoughts of
my own for you to ponder1. A crime against humanity is only a crime if someone else does it?2. Its OK to try Nazis at Nuremberg yet its not ok for our troops to be tried for any
crimes?
3. The success of a species is not defined by the success of a few, but by all members of
the species
4. When the enemy kills civilians, it is called murder, yet when our weapons or troops
do, it is called collateral damage
5. The entire concept of vengeance is counter culture to the message of Jesus, whom
says to forgive and to turn the other cheek when struck one wonders how many
wars would be not fought the past millennia, if one attack was not met with a response
in kind?
6. Why is it that everyone else has BO, yet we dont stink?
7. Why is it that milk from cows and goats is sold yet human breast milk cannot be?
8. Why are nursing moms told to get off buses or cover up in public, while the evening
news shows the dead bodies lying in our city streets shot by our own people here at
home over something stupid like colors, signs, bling, vehicles, gangs, gesticulations,
immigration status, or wealth or poverty?
9. Why is radicalism and liberalism a bad word or concept, yet inequality of wealth,
warfare, intolerance, racism, discrimination, our way or the highway, non-negotiability
considered fine and acceptable?

Endgame The whole point of what I am leading up to, is, that the only reason wars are still being
fought, 66 years after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, are because the
world still uses military force, and violence, as a solution to world problems, when the
mind, intellect, logic, emotion, facts, should be the sole basis for geopolitical disputeadjudication
As long as one nation has a military, it is pure psychology that other nations will feel a
need too, to have a military, to invest in new technologies and to make implements of war.
If the entire planet learned from Einstein to be pacifists, and understood that the true
message of Jesus is pacifism alone rather than violence as a solution to any problem, we
could rid our world of the concept of war entirely
How much talent could be utilized by our species to do the great things if we as a speciescollectively united to solve the great problems of the 21st century today
1. Feeding 7 billion people today, with projections of 9 billion by 2050
2. Spreading Gaias wings and lifeforms to Mars and beyond as permanent self sufficient
settlements
3. Ending the worlds usage of fossil fuels and going 100% green energy
4. Curing diseases and cancers
5. Educating every human on earth in humanistic core curricular studies
6. Guaranteeing equality and human rights for every human on the planet
7. Ending a global economic system of debt, interest, profit, loss, speculation, fluctuating
values, middle men, greed, and economic exploitation and inequality
8. Sustainable minimalism and eco friendly development for the future, and the protection of
soil, water, air, and our fellow passengers animals rights37

Final Thoughts update 10-21-2011
I was watching the CBS evening news tonight, and saw the graphic images of Qaddaffis
death. In fact, more than the show was about this and war in general
I saw family members of the Lockerbie bombing, saying YES! in response to the horrific
video
As long as a species celebrates the death of others, even when such death is brutal and
criminal in nature, in essence, murder, one wonders whether there is a future for a species
long-term. Whether its killing former nazis, Osama, Hussein, Qaddaffi, criminals on Death
Row, and so on, and openly praise God, or be jubilant, or delude oneself into thinking that
murder is somehow justified, the ends never justifies the means murder is murder, no
matter how heinous the person or people being killed. Thinking killing someone is justiceor a victory is a awful indication that all whom believe such action is valid still have the
mindset of cave men. In a world with tens of thousands of nuclear weapons, this kind of
cave man mentality must go away, or the species has no future
By the way, all 2 billion Christians, like me, whom truly believe in the message of Christ,
should not be jumping for joy, fist pumping, or anything, but instead should be filled with
sadness as I am, for having failed Jesus and his message of peace, forgiveness, and
moving on, as opposed to vengeance, murder, and murder disguised as justice. Any humanists, whom want a future for the generations to come, should be sad at the death
of any human by the hands of another, for to kill someone else, makes a murderer out of
those whom did the killing, and every single one whom remains silent, or worse, openly
supports such action. I weep for all on all sides of battle whom die, and implore the human
species to grow up, and move on beyond the psychology of hate, towards an enlightened
future of peaceFree E-book - DRM free, written by Michael Jeffrey

In a world with tens of thousands of
nuclear weapons, the concept of justice,
vengeance, revenge, tit-for-tat, striking
back, and pre-emption, could end the life
of the entire species. The cave man
mentality of thinking it is OK to killothers, for any reason at all, as being OK,
is one step removed from Hiroshima,
Nagasaki, and Zyclon B dropped from the
showers to the innocent victims of Nazigas chambers
