Pennies For Patients
Valentine’s Day Wallet Breakers
How much are you willing to spend on a Valentine’s Day gift? Consumers spend
$2 billion just on flowers and chocolate each Valentine’s Day. What’s your dream gift?
Pennies for Patients is a fundraiser organized by Bobby Ewert as
his NHS project. Collection for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
started on February 2 and continues through tomorrow.
There are jugs located in the commons for each grade to contrib-
ute their change. Each grade is battling to contribute the highest percent-
age per student and the class that collects the most change in both the
elementary and high school will win an ice cream float party.
Bobby came up with this idea because he wanted to do a good
deed for people in need, lend a helping hand and, of course, provide a
fun competition among grades!
Tomorrow, during halftime of the boys game against Ashby, the teachers will
be pieing seniors as the grand finale to their successful fundraising cam-
paign for cancer! Come see Gina, Paul, Joey, Shandy, Mikki, Jamie,
Matt, Bobby, Jacey and Morgan get pied TWICE by CGB staff, BUT
only if there’s enough money: $200!
Please donate today and tomorrow—it’s your last chance—they
need about $50!

Valentine’s Day Movies By: Gina Gilsdorf
As you all know, Valen-
tine’s Day is just around the corner.
I would like to share some lovey-
dovey movie ideas you and your
love could enjoy on this day.
First of all, you can never
go wrong with a Nicholas Sparks
movie. A few examples include the
very famous movie The Notebook
about a summer romance that par-
ents don’t approve of.
Another Sparks movie is The Vow about a young
couple who is very much in love when suddenly their
lives are turned upside down because of a car accident. A
few other romantic Nicholas Sparks movies are The Last Song, Safe Haven, and A Walk To Remember.
Of course you can’t forget the
famous Titanic, the love story of Rose
and Jack risking their lives to save each
other is unforgettably romantic.
Whatever you watch this Valen-
tine’s Day be sure you watch it with a
loved one!

Seniors who are going to be filling out the financial aid application– you may
start doing that anytime now, waiting at least two weeks after your and your parent’s
taxes are filed. You will do this at www.fafsa.gov. See Mrs. Wahl soon if you have
questions or need assistance! Make sure that you don’t use any other site because
there are some that charge you and the application is free and there is free help out
there, like myself and your college’s financial aid office!
Juniors– Now is the time to find out as much information about careers and colleges as you can. You
should also soon be studying for the ACT, as it is not a test you can just cram for. You can get study materials
online or from the counseling office.
Mrs. Wahl will be on leave sometime at the end of February
until mid-April. Mr. Haggerty will be filling in for her during that
time. If there is anything for which you need assistance directly from
Mrs. Wahl, try to plan before or after her leave time, otherwise Mr.
Haggerty will be able to assist you.
