Solid food and beverages

When it comes to eating and drinking, one must be careful of the verb to use  It is correct to say « I will eat a soup » and « I will drink a

coffee »   It is not correct to say « I will take a soup » nor « I will take a

coffee » 

The thing is… We take something in our hand But we have something when we ingest it
