    OneofChattoogaCounty'smostinfluentialandfamouscitizenswastheReverendHowardFinster.Finster,sometimescalledthe"FatherofFolkArt",usedvarioustypesoffolkartworktospreadhisevangelicalandhumanitarianmessagetotheworld.Inhislifetime,Mr.Finstercreatedover46,000originalpiecesofartwork.HislegacyandworkareforeverintertwinedwithChattoogaCountyandthenationalartcommunitythroughhis"ParadiseGardens."

    "ParadiseGardens"istheartenvironmentoffamedcountrypreacherturnedfolk/visionaryartistHowardFinster.TheGardenswerebegunin1961andcontinuedasthefocusofHowardFinster'slaborforover30years.Howard'spaintingcareer,whichbeganin1976andresultedinover46,000paintings,wasbornouthisvisionarylaborsin"ParadiseGardens."TodayHowardFinster'sartisinthepermanentdisplaysofmajormuseumsandisprizedbyartcollectorseverywhere.
