INTRODUCTION
National Pipe Hanger Corporation is proud to present our new Pre-Insulated PipeSupport Catalog containing a complete and versatile line of pre-insulated pipesupports and thermal shields which have been selected to accommodate pipesupport requirements in the commercial and industrial piping fields. This selectionresults from nearly three decades of concentrated and direct exposure to the pip-ing industry, from the design engineer’s selection to the piping contractor’s instal-lation efforts. This is where needs are discovered and where products andservices are genuinely tested. In this area our experiences are unequalled.
A constant awareness of our customers' requirements and efforts is the founda-tion in the development of our manufacturing skills. All National Pipe Hanger Cor-poration products are carefully manufactured to meet the highest standards in theindustry. National Pipe Hanger Corporation is a participating member of the Man-ufactures Standardization Society (MSS).
To complement National Pipe Hanger Corporation’s line of pre-insulated pipe sup-ports, we have added thermal shields manufactured by Value Engineered ProductsIncorporated. Value Engineered Products Incorporated has been in business fortwenty years and they are specified as a thermal shield supplier by most engi-neering firms throughout the United States of America.
Contact National Pipe Hanger Corporation for special pre-insulated pipe supportrequirements including: other pipe sizes and types, insulation thickness, insulationmaterials, slide materials, dimensional requirements, installation methods, fin-ishes, etc. Our people are equipped to respond quickly to your product and serv-ice needs on both standards items and specialized fabrications. Visit our websitefor additional information on pre-insulated pipe supports such as: submittalsheets, installation instructions, competitor model number cross-references, etc.
All units used in this catalog are inch-pound unless otherwise noted. Additionalinformation provided in the end of this catalog can aid the user in: estimating pipesupport loads, determining pipe support spacing, selecting thermal conductivitiesat other operating temperatures, selecting the correct size pipe support for ther-mal shields, and determining the outside diameter of adjoining insulation.

NATIONAL PIPE HANGER CORPORATION
PRE-INSULATED GUIDED STRUT CLAMP
PRO-SHIELD
Description / Features Pro-Shields are 360° thermal hanger shields designed to meet the broadest range of pipe support applications. They providea continuous section of insulation and vapor barrier through a wide variety of pipe hangers for piping systems operating between +20°F and +1200°F. The insulation and vapor barrier extend beyond the galvanized steel shield for a neat, vapor-tight joint with the adjoining insulation. Pro-Shields are suitable for use in any type of clamp as well as in band-type hangers and on flatsurfaces. To assure proper support in all situations, high density 450 psi inserts are installed in units for 10” pipe with 1” insulation thickness and in all units for 12” pipe and larger. Pro-Shields meet the MSS standard for Type 40 shields per MSS SP-58, Para-graph 7.6.
Applications• For indoor use on clamping support systems, flat surfaces, clevis or other band-type hangers (see WeatherShield
Upgrade submittal for outdoor applications).• Pipe sizes 16” and larger in clevis or two bolt hangers only.• Chilled to steam piping and dual temperature lines.• Hanger spans per MSS SP-58 Table A3.• Available for pipe 1/2” through 24”, insulation thickness 1/2” through 4”.
Materials / Construction• 100 psi Calcium silicate meeting ASTM C-533 Type I, C-585, C-795, E-84 Flame Spread/Smoke Developed: 0/0,
Thermal Conductivity = 0.41 Btu•in/(hr•ft2•°F) @ 200°F.• Adhesive complying with NFPA 90-A, ASTM E-84 Flame Spread/Smoke Developed: 10/0.• G-90 Galvanized steel shield, small check per ASTM A-653 (replaces A-527).• Vapor barrier of all service jacket meeting ASTM D-774, D-828 and E-84 Flame Spread/Smoke Developed: 5/5.• Structural insert (12" pipe and larger) minimum 450 psi calcium silicate meeting ASTM C-656 Type II Grade 5,
C-795 and E-84 Flame Spread/Smoke Developed: 0/0.• All units and components are asbestos free and 100% made and assembled in the U.S.A.

NATIONAL PIPE HANGER CORPORATION
Description / FeaturesWeatherShield modifications are appropriate for hostile environment or outdoor applications. The calcium silicate insulation istreated with a water-resistant compound to provide additional protection from moisture. The WeatherShield is constructed withthe specified jacketing material laminated between the steel protection shield and the all service vapor barrier jacket. WeatherShield modifications may be specified for all Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports and Pro-Shield, Pro-Shield N.T., MaxSpanand MaxSpan R.H. Thermal Shields. WeatherShields must be installed as 360° units to maintain their integrity and weather resistance.
Construction / Installation ProcedureThe bottom shield's weather barrier covers approximately 240° of the unit's circumference. The top weather barrier is providedas a separate piece from the top half of insulation. Once the top insulation piece is installed, this top weather barrier overlapsthe bottom weather barrier to act as a watershed, and is then attached with two strips of self-sealing tape, sealing it to the lower half of the unit. If a top metal shield is required, it can be slid into place completing the unit. Insulation and jacketing extend beyond the steel protection shield for a neat, weather-tight connection with the adjoining insulation.
Standard weather barrier layer is Ventureclad aluminum jacketing, either smooth or stucco embossed.
We can also provide :• PVC Jacketing - 0.020” or 0.030” thickness. Colors to match adjoining system requirements.• Aluminum Jacketing - 0.016” or 0.020” thickness. Smooth or stucco embossed.• Stainless Steel Jacketing - 0.010” or 0.015” thickness. Smooth or stucco embossed.
