note: Colors are shown as accurately as possible in brochures & samples, but due to the nature ofthe product, regional color differences and variables in print reproduction, colors may not matchexactly. For best results in maintaining color consistency, pavers must be installed from several cubesat a time. Efflorescence, a whitish, powder-like deposit, may appear on concrete pavers. This is anatural occurrence in any concrete product and will usually wear off over time.
1. Excavate unsuitable, unstable or unconsolidated subgrade material andcompact the area which has been cleared. 2. Place bedding course of washed concrete sand conforming to the gradingrequirements of ASTM C-33 to a uniform depth of 1-11/2 in. (25-38mm)screeded to the grade and profile required.
3. Unsplit units shall be split with a force break cutting device, midpoint of theunit transverse to the unit’s long dimension, to produce a broken facedproduct measuring nominally 4 x 4 x 3". Install broken face up.
4. Install Carriage Stone™ with joints approximately 1/8 in. to 3/16 in.
5. Where required, cut pavers with an approved cutting device to fit accurately, neatly and without damaged edges.
6. Tamp pavers with a plate compactor, uniformly level, true to grade and freeof movement.
7. Post compaction, spread and sweep dry ASTM C 33 or ASTM C 144 sandover the entire paving area.
8. Make one more pass with plate compactor to fill joints with sand.
9. Sweep paver surface clean for final acceptance by owner/owner’s agent.
