Buddhism was originated in
Northern India by siddhartha guatama
He began a search for ‘enlightenment’ when
he was 29 in the 15th century B.C.E .
Siddhartha taught and studied for over 50 years. he became the first Buddha (enlightened one). Siddhartha died when he was 80.

Siddhartha Gotama was born into a royal family in Lumbini, now located in Nepal, in 563 BC.
At 29, he realised that wealth and luxury did not guarantee happiness, so he explored the different teachings religions and philosophies of the day, to find the key to human happiness.
It is thought that Buddhism came to China from what was then North-West India.
. After that, it spread across China and Japan.
Around 376,000,000 follow Buddhism. Thailand, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Nepal, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan and Bhutan are all followers of Buddhism.
The Buddha is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in world history.
There are three main types of Buddhism, Mahayana, thereveda and vagrayana.
Mahayana is China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, Thereveda is India, Burma, Thailand and laos and Vagrayana is Tibetan. There are a lot more branches of Buddhism but there are only three main types.
Thailand, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Nepal, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan and Bhutan are all followers of Buddhism.
To many, Buddhism goes beyond religion and is more of a philosophy or 'way of life'. It is a philosophy because philosophy 'means love of wisdom'.

and aware of thoughts and actions
and to develop wisdom and
understanding.
Buddhism explains a purpose to life, it explains apparent injustice and inequality around the world, and it provides a code of practice or way of life that leads to true happiness

buddhas normally have a room in their house for worshipping
in the room, they have statues, candles and incense.
Practicing Buddhists view Buddha as a teacher and not a god or avatar.
it is common for buddhists to worship on a full moon day
The 3 major tenants Buddha taught his followers was to not be ignorant, hate others, or get angry.
