• Lessons Learned• Communication is key• Industry Working Groups• One-on-One Discussions• Maintain Relationships• Always Seek Feedback on event
LEWG
• Positive Outcomes• Land 3025-1 (Deployable Special Operations Engineer
Capability) was introduced to a new prototype at the June 2013 LEWG by an industry member that is now being incorporated in their Proof of Concept Activity.
LEWG
• Positive Outcomes• Land 19-7B (Ground Based Air and Missile Defence
Enhancement or Replacement) was able to utilize working groups in conjunction with the LEWG to produce a response to a capability study in which we gave industry scenarios and they provided a response with their products. The study was refreshed in 2011 and allowed the project team to discount Ballistic Missile Defence from the project’s scope.
LEWG
• Positive Outcomes• Land 125-4 (Integrated Soldier System Version 3) was
informed by an industry member of a new production method that increases the level of protection for sintered ceramic plates and high curvature body armour. This method allows the project team to closely manage new technology and ensure that is implemented in to current or future projects as required or briefed to Army HQ’s counterparts for inclusion in needs statements.
LEWG
• Positive Outcomes• Land 500/ Land 75 (Remediation of Land Tactical
Electronic Warfare/Battlefield Command Systems) were pleasantly surprised to learn at a LEWG event that industry was investigating the use of multiple radio antennas on a single vehicle/platform to determine interference issues.
LEWG
• Positive Outcomes• Land 75 (Battlefield Command Systems) utilized the
LEWG to inform industry members about Defence programs for innovation and collaboration that some members were not aware of. For example, the Capability Technology Demonstrator (CTD) program and becoming a member of the Rapid Prototyping and Development Evaluation program.
