This workshop shows how to use an Excel workbook that will do this for you. You need to be able to log into BC network. Bring your class registration numbers and prepare roll sheets, sign-in sheets, grade sheets, and an email distribution list for all your classes.

What’s a “safe space?” Get answers to your questions about student diversity. Learn how to use inclusive language in the classroom, what to do if a student “comes out” to you, and the do’s and don’ts of being an ally to our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. 10:00- Creating Learner-Centered Department Websites:11:30 a.m. Policies & Practices ** - Room B.246 Presented by Jeff Detrick, Kyle Smith and Jerry James In the fall, Brazosport College will be “going live” with a new and improved website. Academic, workforce, and support service departments will have a more prominent and visible home on this new site. This workshop features a step-by- step process for transforming department websites into updated, learner-centered sites that provide students with current information, relevant resources, and learning opportunities.

How does this rulingaffectcopyrightproceduresandpoliciesatBrazosport College? This session will discuss the ruling and other nuances of copyright law.
1:00- Desire2Learn Test Grades & Learning Objectives * - B.2461:55 p.m. Presented by Bennett Willis We are asked to document, through testing, student performance relative to the Learning Objectives of our D2L-based classes. This workshop will demonstrate how to quickly download the raw scores on every D2L test question, organize the data, and give each student a score on each Learning Objective.

He will describe the ideas behind the new Texas Association of Community Colleges Reform agenda and new research that can inform modern student support systems and structures.

Dana Center, will facilitate focused discussions on student success and productive persistence with Brazosport College employees.
Dr. Philip Uri Treisman Dr. Philip Uri Treisman is professor of mathematics and ofpublicaffairsatTheUniversityofTexasatAustin, where he directs the Charles A. Dana Center. He serves on the boards of the New Teacher Project, Education Resource Strategies, the American Federation of Teachers Innovation Fund, The Math Teachers Circle and the Community College Survey of Student Engagement. He is a senior advisor to the Aspen Institute’s Urban
Superintendents’ Network. He recently served on the 21st-Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges. He was named a MacArthur Fellow in 1992 for his work on nurturing minority student achievement in college mathematics and 2006 Scientist of the Year by the Harvard Foundation of Harvard University for his outstanding contributions to mathematics.
In all of his work, Dr. Treisman advocates for equity and excellence in education for all children.

Unfortunately these boundaries can and will be broken by students for a variety of reasons. This session will cover the appropriate ways of dealing with disruptive and emotionally-distressed students andwhatavenuesareavailabletosupportfacultyandstaff.

Previously, as a keynote speaker and seminar leader with the Disney Institute, Teri shared exemplary practices of customer service with organizations worldwide. In 1991, she beganherownfirm,T.A.Yanovitch,Inc.Overtheyears,Teri has helped many corporations, but in the past few years has begun working with higher education institutions such as Rollins, Flagler, Seminole State, Florida State College, State College of Manatee and others to share her combined experience and knowledge of how to become the best in the delivery of service. In addition, she has been an adjunct with Rollins College (FL) and Cornell University (NY) in their Executive Education divisions on the topic of customer service.
