and historically, summer
is a time where
productivity in the
workplace drops.

They say that history repeats itself;
With lots of people taking vacations, making
decisions and arranging meetings can become
more difficult.

TO BE SURE THAT YOUR PRODUCTIVITY
DOESN’T DROP THIS SUMMER, CONSIDER
THESE SUGGESTIONS TO KEEP YOU
ON TRACK PROFESSIONALLY
It’s beneficial to know when people will or will not be available due to summer vacations and activities. Knowing your coworkers schedules will enable you to plan your work week effectively and efficiently.
KNOW EVERYONE’S SCHEDULE

Be proactive by communicating your schedule as well. For example: an out of office auto reply or a signature for the bottom of your emails will let people know when you will be out of office.
CLEARLY & FREQUENTLY
COMMUNICATE YOUR SCHEDULE

Summer is undoubtedly the
season where people tend
to be the most distracted
and unintentionally forget
things. Don’t be afraid to
send multiple reminders.

Like previously stated, people tend
to be out of office more often in the
summer. With that being said, the
frequency of normal meetings might
drop a bit. Take this time to learn
and grow as an employee.
PLAN FOR INDIVIDUAL
TALENT DEVELOPMENT
Between the beautiful weather and sunshine, you
probably would rather be outside, causing you to
get distracted and have to finish some work at
home. Choose a few projects and complete
them, then plan out the remainder of your
projects - this way you’ll be on the right track.
MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS
OUTSIDE OF WORK
Relax. It’s summer. Give yourself a little break by allowing more time to complete projects.
GIVE YOURSELF MORE TIME
TO COMPLETE PROJECTS
Try getting to work 30-60 minutes earlier than normal so you can free some time up while the sun is still shining.
GET TO WORK EARLY
Everyone needs some “you” time. Plan a day trip, engage in a hobby, sleep, etc. Do something that makes you happy and you’ll be surprised how much more productive you feel.
SET SOME TIME ASIDE
FOR YOURSELF
WHAT STEPS WILL YOU TAKE
TO ENSURE PRODUCTIVITY
IN THE WORKPLACE THIS SUMMER?
