BODY SHOP
Built in 2007, the body shop has 20,000 sq. ft. of operational space, 2500 sq. ft. of
office and meeting space.
BODY SHOP REARVIEW
8 x 25 ft. bays
INTERIOR
It has 20 ft. eve height, lighting on each side of bay, not at the center.
PAINT BOOTH EXIT DOORS
We have a SAICO down draft positive pressure booth. Notice the white floor at exit of
booth which allows for proper light reflection. This idea came from the booth supplier.
PAINT BOOTH INTERIOR
Add a row of light closer to the bottom. Man-lifts cost $75K each in 2007.
Paint Kitchen
Built to E.P.A. specifications; the toughest part of the process.
COMPRESSOR ROOM *NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED
The compressor room would need to be larger because of the level of difficulty servicing
equipment.
12 x 14 FT BAY DOORS
By increasing bay doors to 14 X 14, the door cost will rise 50%, but the outcome will be
well worth the investment. Also, consider steel doors with electric motors; cost
approximately $6,000 each.
RETRACTING AIR HOSES
This allows a single point access to electricity and air.
BREAKER BOX AND PLUG STATION
SAFETY LIGHT
We did not install originally, but adds safety for management when working before
and after shop hours.
PREP AREA
The down draft prep area with curtains, lowers dust levels on larger jobs and keeps the body
shop cleaner. This idea originated from a trucking company in N. Carolina.
SPACE BETWEEN BAY DOORS The space allows for approximately 14 ft of work space for techs, a place for parts and a place for repair. This is definitely a good idea! Tina would like to see another 3 ft. here instead of widening bay doors.
