SAILING INSTRUCTIONSThe current Detroit Regional Yacht-Racing Associa-tion’s “A” and “B” Courses and sailing instructions are hereby adopted for this Regatta with the following modifications to the paragraphs below.

Paragraph 1, Rules - Class Rules, where applicable will be those adopted by local fleets for DRYA par-ticipation.

Paragraph 8, Course & Marks - are modified to change the course location and marks as follows:

“A-B” COURSES & MARKS“A Course”-Marks to Port: Starting line to GPYC W (near St. Clair Lt.), to Point Huron LT, to GPYC Y, then to the finish line.

“A Course”-Marks to Starboard: Starting Line to Point Huron LT, to GPYC W (near St. Clair Lt.), to GPYC Y, then to the finish line.

“B Course”-Marks to Port: Starting Line to GPYC W (near St. Clair Lt.), to GPYC X to GPYC Y, then to the finish line.

“B Course”-Marks to Starboard: Starting Line to GPYC X, to GPYC W (near St. Clair Lt.), to GPYC Y, then to the finish line.

GPYC X mark will be approx. L.42 29.7’ N. Lo 82 48.1’ W.

GPYC W mark will be approx. L.42 28.2’ N. Lo 82 45.4’ W.

“A”&”B” STARTS-All classes will start between Orange Flag or shape on Race Committee boat and starting line GPYC “Y” mark approx. 0.3 NM from the GPYC breakwater.

Course Direction & Length-Red shape marks to port, green shape marks to starboard. Course dis-tance calculated at: “A” Course 19.12 Nautical miles, “B” Course 12.51 Nautical miles.

Finishing & Approach-A GPYC “Y” mark shall be taken to port by all classes in their final approach to the finish line. This applies to all shortened course

situations as well. See sketch “B” (Finish Line Dia-gram) elsewhere in the sailing instructions. Proceed downstream to cross the Finish Line between the R.C. Flag on the GPYC Harbor Breakwater and the GPYC “Z” mark. See sketch “B” (Finishing line dia-gram) elsewhere in the sailing instructions.

Paragraph 9, Starting Time, Order & Number of starts is modified as follows: Time: The attention signal for the first class will be made at 9:54 a.m. Order & Number of starts will be listed as in these GPYC Sailing instructions.

Paragraph 13 & 14 - Change of Course between Starts, After Starts and Second Race are replaced with the following:

SHORTENING COURSEPrior to the Start - One of the following cylindrical shapes or Code Flags will be displayed from an RC boat during the five minutes prior to the start of ANY class and be accompanied by repeating horn signals.

“A” Course - “A” Cylindrical shape with red-white-blue vertical panels or Code Flag “T” (red-white-blue vertical stripes) - “Sail “B” Courses instead of “A” Courses.”

“B” Course - Cylindrical shape with yellow-blue-yellow horizontal bands or Code Flag “D” (yellow-blue-yellow horizontal stripes) - “Sail to the first mark, thence to the GPYC “Y” Mark (orange bouy) which shall be taken to port and then downstream to the Finishing Line.” See sketch “B” (Finishing Line Diagram) elsewhere in sailing instructions.

Paragraph 15 - Time Limit is modified to Seven (7) Hours.

Paragraph 16 - Protest is modified to read as follows: Submit written protest to the GPYC Switchboard (Front Desk) no later than two (2) hours after your finish. Protests will be heard at the BYC at 19:30 hours (7:30 p.m.), Monday, September 23, 2013.

Radio Monitoring - Yachts please monitor channel 72 VHF from preparatory signal to finish.
