Blackboard Collaborate First Run Set Up for Mozilla Firefox
If you have never used Blackboard Collaborate (BBC) on your computer or if it has been imaged since
the last time you used BBC you will have to go through this process in advance of the web conference.
BBC uses something called the Blackboard Collaborate Launcher that needs to be installed on your
computer using this set of directions.
1. Click on the join link provided to you by the moderator of the BBC session and the window
below will open. It should recognize the OS as Windows and simply click on the Download
button.

2. This window will appear and at the bottom you will click on Save File to download the file. It will
scan the file and this could take several minutes.
3. You will need to go to the Download Arrow which should be blue in the upper right hand corner
if it does not automatically open the window for you. If you don’t see the download arrow you
will need to open the menu in the upper right hand corner.

4. Click on the BBC Launcher in the download window.
5. Click Run.

6. Click Next.
7. Click Install.

8. It is now installing and you can see the progress bar until it is complete.
9. The launcher install is now complete.

10. Now the install is complete you are ready to enter the web conference room. Click Join.
11. Enter your name here and click Log in.

12. The Opening Meeting window will appear and it should default you to Open with Blackboard
Collaborate Launcher. Click OK. If this window does not appear you will need to go to the
Download Arrow to find this file. Once there just click it and it should open.
13. It will now begin to download the application.

14. Click Run.
15. Click Accept to the BBC agreement. Feel free to read the terms.

16. You will need to select the connection speed. Click on the drop down menu and select LAN. Click OK.
17. Success. You are in the room, remember to go the red gear over the microphone to test your
audio and microphone before the session starts. If you are not sure how to do this there is a
