Towards Productive Efficiencies and Farmers Growth
Agriculture continues to be backbone of developing economies including India for its vital
role in providing food, feed, fibre, fuel and livelihood for the world's 800 million people whosuffer from hunger and poverty. It is estimated that one third of the world poor live in India
this is the formidable task for Indian states, development agencies, and other interest
groups. Of the many strategies that have been forwarded to address the issues of global
poverty and environmental degradation, biotechnology is seen as a viable contribution to
the solution. Biotechnology worldwide including India has demonstrated potential to
improve the lives of small-scale farmers. Hence, there is need for creating a world class
forum to facilitate sharing and dissemination of scientific knowledge as well as transfer of
technologies through public-private partnerships to help achieve agricultural sustainabilityand development.
India Bio-Agri Summit 2013 will be convened in
New Delhi. It is committed to providing a comprehensive picture of policy support, market
trends, multi-national cooperation in R&D and technical innovations and investment
climate of the industry. The conference will highlight the status quo, market outlook and
policy guidance of India's bio-agriculture industry, prospects for international cooperation
in research & development, production and commercialization, agricultural biotech
innovations, a new agri-economic future with
untapped market potential in bio-agriculture
development and India's bio-agriculture investment
market outlook.
