When they set out on their business journey in 1988,
David and Sharon Wright knew they wanted to build
a team of skilled and passionate craftsmen. In those
days, David manufactured all the windows and
doors that we made with the help of a young
team of apprentices, and Sharon focused on
sales and marketing.
As the years passed, we built a business around
that foundation, gradually honing new skills
to expand to bigger joinery projects – windows,
doors, conservatories and orangeries.
We’ve grown a fair bit since then, but we’re
still driven by the same passion for quality,
craftsmanship and attention to detail.
We’d love to share that with you.

We do things differently at David H Wright. We use cutting-edge
joinery techniques and industry-leading materials, but we’re a bit
old-fashioned about a few things – like the value of craftsmanship
and proper customer service.
B E A U T I F U L
Your home is the most important structure in your life. The decision
to change it is rarely made lightly, so when you place your trust in
us, we take that responsibility seriously. We’ll create a beautiful,
sympathetic, tailored design which will genuinely enhance the
property you love – and make you fall in love with it even more.
U N I Q U E
To us, every customer’s needs are unique. We want to really look after
you and your family, minimising disruption and keeping you informed
at every step of the process. And we’re always excited when people
come to visit us, to see the parts being made. In fact, we encourage it!
B E S P O K E
Everything we make is different. Big or small, traditional or
contemporary, we bring more than 25 years of quality joinery
experience to make sure your bespoke project measures up
to your exact specification.o

Everything we make is of a
consistently high quality – and
that’s down to two key things.
First, our in-house joiners make
all our products by hand. They
combine an in-depth knowledge
of traditional techniques with a
genuine love for the craft and
extremely accurate, state-of-
the-art equipment.
Second, we only use the best
materials the industry has to
offer. The wood, glass and paint
we use is all innovative, beautiful
and incredibly durable.

Windows and doors give character and personality to a building.
They have an important job to do – bringing light, ventilation, strength
and security – but that doesn’t mean they can’t be beautiful.
W I N D O W S
We built our early business on beautiful, bespoke timber windows,
and we still make them with the same skill and passion. We design
to your precise needs and hand-craft them from a variety of
timbers, pre-finished with Teknos micro-porous paint. The result
is a sliding sash, casement or storm-proof window that perfectly
suits your home, with a traditional or contemporary design –
or your own unique combination of the two.
D O O R S
A door needs to be strong and secure, but it should also make
a welcoming first impression. So we create safe, durable, beautiful
external and internal doors that owners and visitors both love – built
exactly the way you want them. Whether that’s a classic panelled
door with glass or wood panels, or space-saving and energy-efficient
sliding/bi-folding doors, we make sure all doors look exactly as you
require without compromising on security. No matter the design,
all our doors have state-of-the-art locking systems.w

We’re sometimes asked
how we’ve managed to build
such a strong team of skilled,
committed staff.
Well, we started out in a
mining community – and in our
early days, employment and
apprenticeship grants really
helped us to grow. So we know
the value of proper training.
In fact, David’s second ever
apprentice, John, is still with
us today. Like all our senior
staff, he’s helping to teach our
skills and values to the next
generation of joiners, though the
Construction Industry Training
Board’s Apprenticeship Scheme.

Your new conservatory starts with a virtual plan – using the latest
Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to draw a scale model of
your house and the conservatory design. It gives us for a perfectly
accurate picture of how the completed project will look, before we’ve
even begun. We’ll make sure the design is perfectly matched to your
home’s style and period: our work on Listed Buildings has given us a
keen eye for fine detail.
T O T A L S E R V I C E
New regulations mean many conservatories don’t need planning
permission, but if you do need to liaise with your local council, we’ll
provide full help and advice. We’ll then handle every other part of
the process for you – from base laying, delivery and construction
to on-going service and maintenance. Everything is pre-finished in
our workshop and constructed on site, which keeps any disruption
to a minimum.
B U I LT T O L A S T
We use replenishable timber, Teknos paint, ClimaControl eco glass
double glazing and aluminium powder-coated capping and roof vents.
What that means is a conservatory built to last, with an industry-
leading guaranteed finish, roofing which is virtually maintenance-free,
and windows which keep the interior warmer in the winter and cooler
in the summer.

How smart can a window be?
We use ClimaControl eco glass,
which insulates up to 63%
more effectively than regular
double glazing. It reflects heat
better too, helping to keep
your conservatory up to 9°C
warmer in the winter and
9°C cooler in the summer.
It reduces glare, prevents
almost all condensation and is
permanently self-cleaning.
So the answer is: very
smart indeed.

Orangeries and conservatories have many materials in common –
but they’re actually quite different. An orangery is an integral part
of your property, like a new room or an extension, and that requires
a professional architect and planning permission. But we’re here to
help you through every step of that journey.
O U R E X P E R I E N C E
Some people think planning permission is a minefield – but we have
decades of experience of doing things the right way. We’ll talk to your
local council long before a single brick has been laid, to make sure
everything runs smoothly and easily. Our work on heritage sites and
Listed buildings means your orangery couldn’t be in safer hands.
E V E R Y S T E P
Whether your orangery is just an idea, or the design has already
been drawn up, we’re here to help. Come to us at the start and
we’ll commission an architect for you, then look after everything
from concept to completion. Or visit us with architect’s plans and
we’ll help you build it, beautifully.
T H E B E S T M AT E R I A L S
Our orangeries use the best materials in the trade – replenishable
timber with an industry-leading guaranteed finish, roofing which needs
almost no maintenance and eco glass to keep the inside warm in the
winter and cool in the summer.

Not every project is about building something new – in fact, many
people don’t know just how much their home could benefit from
a simple change of glazing.
R E F R E S H Y O U R C O N S E R V AT O R Y
We often hear from people whose existing uPVC conservatory has
become a little used part of the home. It’s too hot in warm weather,
too chilly in cold weather and too poorly insulated to be heated in
a cost effective way. If that sounds like you, there’s good news –
fitting ClimaControl eco glass keeps interiors up to 9°C warmer
in the winter and 9°C cooler in the summer, turning a forgotten
conservatory into a place you’ll love again.
B E T T E R I N S U L AT I O N
It’s not just conservatories which can benefit. Eco glass in your
windows and doors can help you stay better in control of the
temperature in your home – with up to 63% more effective insulation
than regular double glazing, it’s exceptional at preventing heat loss.
A F R E S H L O O K
We think our painters and decorators are among the best in the
business – but we don’t need to build something from scratch to
share their skills with you. If your conservatory, orangery, windows
or doors could use some fresh paint and a new look, they’ve got
the skills and experience to do the job perfectly.

A C C O Y A
ACCOYA timber really has been a game changer in the world of
joinery. It’s a sustainably-sourced softwood which is treated with
a patented process to give it performance equal to, and often
better than, tropical hardwood. We’re very proud to be able to
offer it to all our customers.
W H AT M A K E S A C C O Y A S O S P E C I A L ?
ACCOYA wood is treated in a way which changes the wood’s
properties. It penetrates right through to the core, giving it exceptional
durability and a minimum life expectancy of 60 years. What’s more,
paint finishes last up to 12 years, an average of 3-5 times longer
than conventional hardwood.
K I N D T O T H E P L A N E T
The ACCOYA process uses only acetyl acid, which already occurs
naturally in wood. The timber grows quickly in sustainable forests and
the treatment process is carbon neutral and completely non-toxic,
so ACCOYA’s environmental impact is extremely low. It’s also 40%
more thermally efficient than hardwoods.
A D D E D B E N E F I T S
ACCOYA wood shrinks and swells less than any other joinery timber,
which stops it sticking in cold weather. It’s resistance to the effects of
UV exposure is better too, and it’s remarkable rot resistance gives
it a Class 1 British Standard durability rating – the highest possible.
