Project Set Up in the Projects Accounting Module
Step 1 Create a projects responsibility for the entity
1. Enter System Administrator responsibility
2. Navigation: security > responsibility > define
3. Enter data as follows on the next print screen. To populate the fields
Responsibility Name, Responsibility Key and Description for each entity use the
values in table A-1 (see next page):
Step 2 - Define profiles
Note: To define the profiles correctly for each entity use the values in table A-2 (two
pages below)
1. Remain in System Administrator responsibility
2. Navigation: profile > system

Step 3 - Add the new responsibility to your user
1. Remain in System Administrator responsibility
2. Navigation: security > user > define
3. Find your user (using F11/Ctrl+F11) and add the new responsibility

Step 4 - Setup in Projects Accounting module
1. Enter the new projects responsibility
2. Navigation: setup > system > implementation options
3. Enter data as follows. To populate the fields Calendar Name and PA Period
Type use the values shown in table A-3 below:
NOTE when doing organizational change which affects the HR tree, you must report and
approve all the timecards until the new HR period.
In case there will be missing timecards cases that need to report previous to the org change,
need to go back to previous version in 3 tabs System, project setup, expend/costing.
(Open this function to limited time frame, not more than 30 min)
MAKE SURE YOU GO BECK TO EXISTING VERSION. If you dont do it, no one willbe able to report SST!

If after organizational change you get error of unique project number, make sure to check
the automatic button and provide the next project number in the hierarchy. (check it in
production in table pa_projects_all)

Because the Allow cross charge is checked, user from TA can report on projects that
were opened from WK responsibility and vise versa.

Step 5 - Define provider and receiver relationships (in case of
implementing invoices)
Define provider and receiver relationships (which operating units can charge each
operating unit).
1. Remain in the new projects responsibility
2. Navigation: costing > provider and receiver controls
3. Enter data as follows:

Step 6 - Open GL /PA periods for projects
1. projects responsibility
2. Navigation: system > PA periods/GL periods (To see all periods click ctrl + F11)3. Update the relevant periods status to Open (MAKE SURE YOU COVER ALL
PROJECTS RESPONSIBILITIES):
In case you dont see enough future periods click on Copy from GL and you will get all
future periods that were opened in finance. Note that it will be added in never opened
status so you should open it when needed. To open the periods go to the GL periods
function and open the periods. Once done then click on Copy from GL in the PA periods
function.

To open WK periods go to the following:
Calender: look for COM_Calender
Type: COM_PA_WEEK (Prefix: look for %WK%)
Once you opened the periods in this screen, go back to pa periods screen and just open the
new updated periods.
