IT’S A WALK OFF: Manny Machado hit a two-run walk-off home run in Tuesday's win over the Yankees...It
was the third walk-off home runs this season for Machado, tying an Orioles record...According to the Elias Sports
Bureau, Machado became the fourth player in Orioles history (since 1954) to hit three walk-off home runs in a
season joining Eddie Murray (1978), Fred Lynn (1985), and Rafael Palmeiro (1998)...It marked the first walk-
off home run by an Oriole against the Yankees since Nate McLouth did so off of Vidal Nuno on May 21, 2013.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH: 3B Manny Machado was named the American League Player of the Month for
August...Machado batted .341 (43-for-126) with 23 runs, six doubles, a triple, 12 home runs, 35 RBI, and three
stolen bases over 29 games to earn his second career Player of the Month award (also April 2016)...Among AL
hitters, Machado finished first in RBI, tied for first in home runs, fourth in slugging percentage, and fifth in batting
average...He notched at least one hit in 22 of 29 games and posted multi-hit efforts in 14 contests...On August 19
vs. Los Angeles-AL, he hit three home runs, his final homer was a walk-off grand slam...Machado became just the
10th player in Major League history, and the first in Orioles history, to record three grand slams in a calendar month.
MAKING HIS CASE: 2B Jonathan Schoop ranks among American League leaders in several offensive
categories…He ranks sixth in the AL in batting average (.306) and second with 102 RBI…His 31 home runs are
tied for ninth and his 64 extra-base hits are tied for fourth…Schoop’s 163 hits are tied for third in the AL and his
.543 slugging percentage ranks eighth…Schoop was named to his first American League All-Star team this season

DRIVE ‘EM IN: 2B Jonathan Schoop drove in his 100th RBI of the season on Thursday, his first career 100 RBI
season…He became the fastest Oriole to reach 100 RBI (August 31) since Chris Davis in 2013 (August 1)…With
his 28th home run on Saturday in Boston, Schoop established an Orioles record for RBI by a second baseman
(primary position) in one season with 95, passing Roberto Alomar, who had 94 RBI in 1996…Schoop ranks second
in the American League and ranks sixth in the majors with 102 RBI this season…His 48 RBI since the All-Star
break lead the AL and are tied for second in the majors.
NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: In 34 games since joining the Orioles on August 1, INF Tim Beckham is hitting
.535 (53-for-150) with 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 20 RBI and has at least one hit in 30 of his 34
games with the O’s, including each of the first 12…He was named the AL Player of the Week for July 31-August 6
after hitting .583 with three doubles, a triple, three homers, and six RBI in six games to earn his first weekly award.
THREE’S COMPANY: Among qualifying American League rookies, INF/OF Trey Mancini ranks second in
batting average (.292) and slugging percentage (.504), ranks third in home runs (23), on-base percentage (.339), and
RBI (73)…His 23 home runs rank third-most in Orioles history for a player during his rookie season, trailing only
Eddie Murray’s 27 in 1977 and Cal Ripken, Jr.’s 28 in 1982).
CATCH THIS: O’s catchers lead the AL and rank second in the majors with a .292 (151-for-517) average...When
catching, Welington Castillo, Caleb Joseph, and Francisco Peña have combined to notch 22 doubles, one triple,
28 home runs, and 73 RBI…Orioles catchers are tied for the Major League lead in home runs (as catcher) with
28…Castillo leads AL catchers and ranks second in the majors with a .303 batting average this season…His 19

AN AWESOME AUGUST: In 29 games in August, the Orioles led the majors with a .306 average, a .534 slugging
percentage, and 57 home runs...Their 57 home runs set a new Major League record for the month of August, breaking
their own record of 55, set last season…The 57 home runs were the third most hit by a team in any calendar month
in Major League history, trailing only the 58 hit by the Orioles in May of 1987 and 58 by the Seattle Mariners in

Trumbo’s 20th homer on August 25 gave the Orioles six players with at least 20 home runs this season…Trumbo

homers...It marks the second-straight season and the third time in O’s history (since 1954) that the Orioles have had

THIS DATE IN ORIOLES HISTORY: On this date in 1995, Cal Ripken, Jr. played in his 2,131st consecutive
game and broke Lou Gehrig’s record...Ripken went 2-for-4 and homered for the second night in a row as the Orioles
defeated the Angels, 4-2...When the game became official in the middle of the fifth inning, Ripken took his famous
