The 2020/21 academic year began in presence and switched to online mode from November 2, 2020 following Federal Council directives.
The transition to the online mode involved only the theoretical courses while the in-presence atelier activities in small groups were guaranteed, respecting the safety regulations.
USI considers in-presence learning very important and therefore has decided, following the directives of the Federal Council, that the spring semester will end as much as possible in presence on the campuses, with the necessary digital integrations, which will be defined case by case.
From April 26, 2021 the theoretical courses will be able to resume in presence with some limitations concerning the number of participants in respect of the anti-covid norms in force.
USI engaged fondly to raise the necessary funds to increase the number of scholarships to help students who were in a difficult financial situation following the crisis due to the extraordinary health emergency.
