Friday 27th March 2015

Dear staff and pupils at Sea Mills Primary School,

Thank you for all your hard work this week in helping to discover more about the dragon that made appearances in your local area. The scientists, here at the National Museum of Strange Objects, have found your writing and illustrations very informative. We have read everything from your newspaper reports and discussions to your persuasive texts and instructions. Thank you! These have been most helpful.

While you were busy reporting on the dragon, we have been keeping a close eye on the egg. Some pupils in Year 1 said they had seen the egg rock from side to side on Monday. This is highly likely as, not long after we took it for examination, the egg began to hatch making way for a friendly baby dragon to enter the world. We are delighted to say that its mother quickly returned and was reunited with its new baby.

Mother and baby are doing fine. Thank you for taking such good care of the egg. When they are ready, the mother and baby dragon will fly off to start a new, exciting adventure in a land far, far away. Thank you once again.

Yours sincerely,

V StrangewaysInvestigator in Chief National Museum of Strange Objects
