Baan Saan Rak
Dear friends of Baan Saan Rak. It makes us happy to welcome and thank everybody who has
collaborated from Baan Saan Rak (BSR) since our foundation in
September 2003.
This is the second Newsletter about the life and activities held in
BSR. We want you to know about our projects, activities and the
growth, letting you take part in the children’s present and future.
We are glad to tell you that the 23 children of BSR have a warm
home, regular meals, love, care and a family thanks to the
support of each one of you!
Baan Saan Rak Today. BSR is home for 23 children aged 9 to 18 years. They come
from dysfunctional and poor families of suffered violence and
abuses during their childhood which makes growing up very
difficult. BSR gives them all the love, support and tools they
need to rebuild their self-esteem and trust, giving them better
chances to become part of society like any other kid.
20 of them live in Maleao and attend from Monday to Friday to
three different public schools near BSR where they learn, share
and have lunch: Baan Tamao, Maelao Wittayakom and
Tesaban.
BAAN SAAN RAK NEWSLETTER NR 2 MARCH 2016
The other three live in outside BSR because their
technical schools are far from Maelao. (Chiang Rai
Vocational College and Assumption Techincal School
Nakhom Phanom).
Anyhow their education is still in Jit’s hands, she provides
support for their tuition and other expenses.
This March our students have finished their academic year
and some of them are going to spend their holidays with
their relatives. Furthermore, we are proud to tell you that
one our students has finished this month his studies on
the Assumption Techincal School Nakhom Phanom.
Activities After school the children come back to BSR to cook their own dinner, to take care of their homework,
wash their clothes and share life as a family. During weekends they finish their daily tasks and enjoy
playing sports, singing, drawing and having different activities which were prepared by NGOs,
universities and foundations .who support Baan Saan Rak.
FOOTBALL
Baan Saan Rak FC is the
team that the boys of BSR
have formed. They compete
on Saturdays and they train
during the week. His biggest
rival is a team also from
Maelao, Baan Moo.4 FC.
FUTSAL
The girls of BSR also play
football in Maelao Witayakom
Team. They play five-a-side
football with some friends of
their school. This year they
won a competition in Chiang
Mai!
FARM
On weekends BSR children cultivate vegetable in Jit’s family
farm. There we can find eggplants, vegetables Kwan Tung,
cabbages, Chinese cabbages and collards. In its turn children
become responsible of the plants, learning and understanding
that diary small actions can become big projects if they are done
with effort and commitment.
