August 2017
Dear Friends,
On behalf of our entire Holy Trinity Parish, I welcome you to GreekFest 2017. We are so pleased that you have joined us in this annual Festival, allowing us to share our beautiful Greek culture as well as our ancient Orthodox Christian Faith. GreekFest 2017 marks 44 years of celebrating a portion of those important dimensions in our lives with the greater Indianapolis community.
Marika Kalyvas Bagios leads and coordinates the great team of volunteers who welcome, cook, serve, dance, teach, and provide support for you and all the guests who visit us during these three days. The long and many hours of hard work create this wonderful opportunity for us to share our cherished Orthodox Faith and Hellenic culture with you.
This year of 2017 has become a special one for us of Holy Trinity Church with the addition of the flooring and the pews. The four mosaic medallions on the floor enhance the beauty in our Nave and the magnificence of the Church. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of one of the scheduled tours of the Church, respecting this sacred space by not bringing open containers of food or beverages into the Nave. Men are also asked to remove their hats.
Icons are a powerful presence in the Eastern Orthodox Church. The icon of the Holy Trinity oftentimes is depicted by the hospitality of Abraham (Genesis 18). As Orthodox Christians of Greek heritage of Holy Trinity Church, we seek to welcome you and celebrate this hospitality, and thank you for joining us.
May God bless you and your loved ones.

For the younger family members, enjoy “Bounce House City”, our puppet show featuring Rumpelstiltskin and various children’s activities available in the Children’s Tent.
GreekFest 2017 is hosted by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church parishioners who dedicate their time and talents throughout the year to present what has become one of Central Indiana’s favorite food and cultural events. Without these hard working volunteers, there is no GreekFest.
A special thanks to the festival co-chairs, Mike Hendricks, Tony Filis and Sam Nicholos, the individual booth chairs, our numerous volunteers, all the local sponsors, partners and our entire Parish family for their dedication and support.
Now go “get your Greek on” and mark your calendars for GreekFest 2018 on August 24-26.

Throughout the ages, the Greek Orthodox Christian Church has maintained a continuity of faith and love with the Apostolic community which was founded by Jesus Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Orthodox Christianity offers a fullness of the Faith that is characterized in an air of antiquity and timelessness.
God is the source of faith in the Orthodox Church. Orthodox Christianity believes that God has revealed Himself to us humans, most especially in the revelation of Jesus Christ, Whom we know as the Son of God. This Revelation of God, of His love, and of His purpose is constantly made manifest and contemporary in the life of the Church.
We offer you an opportunity to learn more about our Church during your visit to our Festival. Participate in a scheduled tour which will be offered throughout the day.
Church Tour Times:• Friday, 5 and 7 p.m.• Saturday, Noon, 2, 4, 6 and 7:30 p.m. • Sunday, 12:30 and 2 p.m.
