ATHLETES Benson, Ricky 7th All-time leading scorer in Boys Basketball and
holds 1 school record.
Bridges, Robert Broke the school rushing record in Football in 2002.
Record would stand for 10 years.
Brumby, Tanner Broke all Quarterback records for PHS football at
the time. Most of the records had not been broken
in nearly 40 years. Also a prominent member of the basketball, baseball, and golf programs at different
points of his career. Went on football scholarship to
Mercer.
Burns, Brady Was key member of 1999-00 Boys Basketball team
that won the region championship. Also broke the record for most passing yards in a season in 1997
that stood for nearly 30 years. His 1997 record
lasted until 2012.
Cantrell, Bobby Key member of the football team. One of the best
athletes at his time.
Carpenter, Miles Was a star in football, baseball, and basketball in his
time at PHS. Offered a football scholarship by
Jacksonville State University and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds’ minor league system upon
graduation of high school. He played two years with
the Reds organization and then attended Carson Newman College to play football.
Craig, Tyler Most decorated Male Pole Vaulter in school history. Won the 2013 State Championship and went on to
compete in college. 2nd at Junior Olympics
Dunn, Tyler Placed 4th overall at 2008 State XC Meet for then
school record of 16:21.68. Represented GA in
Footlocker South Regional in Charlotte after being named Team Georgia by Atlanta Track Club. Went
on to run XC & Track at Western Carolina & Lees-

Finch, Scott Was an All-State football player in 1981 and set the
Rebounding record on the basketball court.
Franklin, Lindsey Big part of 2004 Region Champ team for
volleyball. She was the setter and a team captain.
Godfrey, Brooks Scored over 40 goals in his Soccer career and 16 in
a season. This set the school record at the time. Also recorded 4 goals in a half once. Also served
as kicker for football team.
Henson, Darrell Held record for Pole Vault for many years. Was
Region Champion in multiple events in Track in
1974. Held the record for longest run in a season for 41 years in football.
Hooks, Chris Was a 1971 All-State Football player and member of the best statistical defense in PHS football
history.
Howard, Thomas All-time leading tackler in PHS football history.
Also set season record for tackles.
Jones, Spencer Key member of 2010-11 basketball team that
qualified for state playoffs. Went on to play at
Auburn Univ of Montgomery.
Kent, Ramon Key member of the baseball team.
Medlin, Kevin One of the most decorated batters in PHS baseball history. Holds record for HRs in a season (10) and a
game (3).
Pettitt, Apryl Held two school records in Track & Field in the
400m, 200m, and 300m Hurdles. Finished 2nd in
state in 2007.
Phillips, Stuart Key member of the baseball program. Went on to
play baseball at Shorter.
Propes, Sam Prominent member of 2004 football team that

Rich, Mallory Went 42-2 in her 4-year career playing #1 singles
for the Tennis team.
Robinson, Kevin Finished 4th in the Wrestling State Championships in
1992 and was a USA Wrestling National Champion.

Trammell, Jarod Was a 4-year letterman in Golf & 3-year letterman in Football. Won Region Individual Golf
Championship in 2003 & 2004. Was part of 2003
Team Region Champ. Competed in 3 of 4 state tournaments. Finished Top 5 in State in 2004 &
Top 10 in 2003. Went on to Berry College to play
golf and was NAIA All-American. Qualified for U.S. Amateur. Competed professionally for 3 years.

Represented GA in Footlocker South Regional in Charlotte after being named Team Georgia by
Atlanta Track Club. Went on to run XC & Track at Valdosta State.
Vansant, Paula 6th all-time leading scorer in PHS Dragonettes
Basketball history and also was a great golfer. Was one of the first golfer to play on UGA Golf team.
Weaver, Alyssa Placed 2nd overall at 2012 State XC Meet. Represented GA in Footlocker South Regional in
Charlotte after being named Team Georgia by
Atlanta Track Club. Went on to run XC & Track at Texas Tech University.
Weaver, Jenni Big part of 2004 Region Champ team for volleyball. She was the outside hitter and a team

Boys Basketball and finished the season in the Final

1986 Football Team Finished the season 8-2-1 for the best season in
school history at that time. Their record of finishing the regular season with only 1 loss stood for 32
years.
1999-00 Boys Basketball Team Finished with school record tying 22 wins and won
the Region Championship for the first time in over
40 years. Made it to the Elite 8 in the state tournament.
2004 Football Team Finished the season 8-3 and hosted the first ever state playoff game at Dragon Stadium.

in Volleyball.
