Audience, topic & length
The TREE audience ranges from student to professor (tenured to tenderfoot) and so articles must be accessible to a wide readership. That means avoid jargon or unpack in a ‘glossary’ table. The hard bit is being self-aware about what you know but your audience does not. (What process helps with this?)
Choosing a topic
• You should choose some area of population or community ecology that is of interest to you, and that ideally has some connections to your research. The community ecology research area must deal with interaction of two or more species. Topic areas must be OK'd by your instructors before you execute and get writing (measure twice and cut once) during our class-wide discussion of the reviews. Your Forum should be approximately 1200 words (5 double-spaced pages).
Length & Submission
format
• Length -- 1200 words, 12 references• The word limit (1200 words) does not include text
in boxes, tables, figure legends, abstract or references. (see quote)
