• DemonstrationofsubjectbasedknowledgeandunderstandingIhaveverymuchenjoyedlearningaboutsemioticsandDeconstruction,anddevelopingalanguagetothinkanddiscussthesubjects.IamdeeplyinterestedinAnthropologyanyway(Iwantedtostudyitafewyearsago)andthissectionofthecourseisanaturalprogressionfromthat.IdogetfrustratedbymyinabilitytocommandlanguageasIwouldlikewhichmakesexplainingmythoughtsclearlychallenging.Sometimesthewayinwhichpeoplewroteaboutthesubjectseemsarchaicandopaquewhichisfrustratingtoo.Andofcoursethereareaspectstoitall,whichdoreallytestmybrain’sabilitytocomprehendquitewhatisbeingsaid,i.e.itcanbeconfusing.However,I’mneversurewhetherit’sthelanguageortheconceptthatisopaque.Therearesomanysubtlesemanticvariationsintheliteratureandmovingbeyondageneralunderstandingtoamorenuancedoneisthechallenge,Iwouldthink.
