COMPANY HISTORYFebruary -1-1942Champaklal H.Choksi , Chimanlal N.Choksi , Suryakant C.Dani and Arvind R.Vakil get together to manufacture paint in garage on Forus road,Bombay.they name their company “The Asian Oil & Paint Company”.
1945•Incorporated•Asian paints touches turnover of Rs3,50,000 with an innovative marketing strategy “to reach consumers in the utmost corners of the country with small packs”.
1954•Gattu,the ,mischevious kid-the mascot of Asian paints was born.
1967•The name of the company changed to Asian paints (India) private ltd.•Asian paints became the 10th largest paint company in the world.
1973Asian paints became a public limited company.
2002Comes out to be the market leader of Indian decorative paints with market share of 44%
