COMM 335: Intercultural Communication (3 hours)
COMM 458: Global Media (3 hours)
COMM 685: Graduate Independent Study(3 hours)
Note: All students must register for at least 6 credit
hours to be eligible for financial aid
Eligibility Requirements: All Study Abroad programs
require a minimum 2.0 GPR & good academic standing

Description:
The courses provide
students with direct expo-
sure to professionals work-
ing and researching in the
communication sector.
Students interview and
research case studies in
Buenos Aires, which is a
global communications
nexus in Latin America. Students learn the key institu-
tions of MERCOSUR, communication skills, and cultural
literacy from researchers and professors from Argentine
universities. Lectures will occur at the University of
Belgrano.
Internship Option
Students may spend summer session II participating in
an internship program in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Location:
Buenos Aires is the capital of
Argentina and second largest
city in South America after São
Paulo. The city’s history and
architecture were influenced by
Italian, German, and Spanish
immigrants. The city is sepa-
rated into about 12 major
neighborhoods with prestigious
universities, museums, and
theatre art centers. The sub-
way is easy to use, and going
for walks in the many parks
gives you a chance to see
Argentine life.

Scholarships
The Study Abroad Programs Office offers 2 scholarship
programs: the International Education Fee Scholarship
and the Study Abroad Fellowship. These awards are
based on merit or financial need. Application deadlines
are listed on the website. Applications will be available
through Scholarships and Financial Aid at the following

Financial Aid
Federal and state financial aid and some scholarships
may often be used toward the cost of TAMU study
abroad programs. Students can contact their program’s
Study Abroad Advisor to obtain a copy of a Budget Re-
quest Form. Students can and should talk with a Finan-
cial Aid Counselor at 845-3236 for more information.
Sponsorships:
Many students studying abroad raise money through
their own personal connections and networking. The
Study Abroad Programs Office has made arrangements
with the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office to have
such donations sent directly to Texas A&M in his/her
name to be applied directly to tuition and fees. Some
donors will request receipts they can use for tax pur-
