Aqua Glo Inspections
There are two standards required for every Aqua Glo instrument.Fluorescing
StandardCalibrating
Standard
Aqua Glo Inspections
Remove the Fluorescing Standard held by 4 screws under the hinged flap.
Aqua Glo Inspections
Read the Set Point on the back of the Fluorescing Standard
Aqua Glo Inspections
Set the adjusting lever to be perpendicular to the side of the comparator chamber.
Aqua Glo Inspections Read the position of the
lever on the scale.
If the lever reading is the same as the Fluorescing Standard set point, this confirms that the correct Standard is being used and that nobody has switched with another instrument.
Aqua Glo Inspections
Compare the Code Number on the Fluorescing Standard with the code on the Calibrating Standard. They must be the same. However, the Set Points are usually different. This is acceptable.
Aqua Glo Inspections
Newer Aqua Glo’s have the code number on a decal on the hinged cover. If yours does not have a decal, we recommend that you make one or scribe the code into the metal.
Aqua Glo Inspections
If the lever reading is different than the Fluorescing Standard Set Point, remove the Calibrated Scale and install a new one, positioned correctly.
Order P/N GTP-834-153 and you will receive a packet of 3, in case you do not install correctly.
Aqua Glo Inspections
If the code on the Calibrating Standard is different than the code on the Fluorescing Standard, order a new set of standards, GTP-835.
A new calibrated scale will be included.
Aqua Glo Inspections
Somebody is sure to ask why the Standards are not all the same.
Answer: Each one is manually painted in ultraviolet light and we have never mastered a technique to make them the same. There are too many variables.
