APPLICATIONSOFOPTIMALCONTROLTHEORYTOBIOLOGICALMODELSOp#malcontroltheoryhasbeensuccessfullyusedinmanydecision‐makingareassuchaseconomics,biology,physicsandengineering.Inthistalk,wefocusonop#malcontrolproblemsinthecontextofepidemiologicalorbiologicalapplica#ons.Theseproblemsinvolveordinarydifferen#alequa#ons,discretesystem,andpar#aldifferen#alequa#ons.Foreachcase,weiden#fyandcharacterizeop#malcontrolsandalsoevaluatetheimpactofthemonthedynamics.First,fewmathema#calmodelsofinfluenzadynamicsareconsideredtoiden#fyop#maltreatmentandisola#oninterven#onsorop#malage‐specificvaccina#onstrategies.Thisstudyhighlightsinsightsontheroleofeffec#vepublichealthpoliciestomi#gatethespreadofinfluenza.Secondly,weconsiderareac#on‐diffusionequa#onforaspa#allydistributedpopula#onmodelunderdifferentgrowthfunc#ons.Then,op#malharveststrategiesarediscussedforthisreac#ondiffusionmodel.
