Anu Family Services Report
Taking a closer look at 2014
Every year we look forward to putting together our annual
report because it provides us an opportunity to share with
our partners our innovations, impact and advancements. I
hope you will enjoy taking a closer look at Anu to see how
your support is helping us to have an impact on youth and
families in our community.
Anu’s mission is to “create permanent connections to
loving and stable families," and we believe every child has
the right to grow up in a permanent family, without
wondering when they will have to pack up everything they
have and move to a new home again without warning.
The challenge is that too many children are living in out-
of-home care without connection to permanent and
stable families. Unfortunately, the number of children
entering the child welfare system is not declining. Finding
enough generous people to open their hearts and their
homes to children in need of healing is at the center of
this challenge. We are incredibly grateful for all of our long-
term and new foster families, and we hope to continue to
grow our network of dedicated foster families.

Our Parent Coaching services and our Intensive Permanence Services continue to show
incredible results in preventing and healing children's trauma. These services have been growing
and we are now serving over 60 counties in Wisconsin and 35 counties in Minnesota.
Traditional foster care reimbursements only cover the basic necessities for youth, and many of
the innovative healing services we have developed are not available for many youth who could
benefit from them.
We have learned a great deal over the years about what youth need to heal the trauma they
have suffered and remain dedicated to finding and securing the resources necessary for youth
to form healthy connections with loving and stable families.
Thanks for taking a closer look with us,
Jack and Amelia

The mission of Anu Family Services is to create permanent connections to loving and stable families.
We believe every child has the right to grow up in a permanent family, and all of our programs and services are geared toward making that basic human right possible.
Our Impact
The Anu Framework for Wellbeing is an innovative
approach to serving youth and their caregivers and
is having a dramatic impact.
Our unique approach of offering prevention,
stabilization, permanency and consulting/training
services through the Anu framework for healing
childhood trauma and building networks of support
is resulting in a significant increase in youth who are
connected to loving, stable families and improved
individual and organizational resilience for those we
serve.
Anu on the Rise
Treatment Foster Care Treatment Foster Care continues to be one of our largest
programs with over 100 foster parents in Wisconsin and
Minnesota. Our amazing foster parents have opened
their hearts and their homes to some of the most at-risk
children in our community. Through the Anu Healing
Home model we are achieiving
industry-leading outcomes for
stabilization. Our foster parents receive additional support and training to ensure
they have the tools they need to manage the most challenging behaviors as our
youth begin to heal the grief, loss, and trauma they have experienced as a result
of being removed from their family home.
Parent Coaching
Parent Coaching is our fastest growing program and provides
face-to-face, virtual via Skype, or telephone coaching to any
parent seeking to better understand how their child is
feeling and offers practical tips for how to handle their
child's disruptive and challenging behaviors.
Our Parent Coaching program has nearly tripled the number of families
served since 2013. We have been asked to expand our program
throughout Wisconsin and in Minnesota. For more information about
Parent Coaching please visit: http://www.anufs.org.
