long-lasting, semi-double, gold and black flowers. These appear from July through to October on a vigorous and bushy plant. The flower colour gradually deepens in colour as they age so the result
is a multi-tonal tapestry of colour that will provide long lasting interest, just when many summer plants have finished blooming.
The flowers are always busy with pollinating insects, making this a great choice for a wildlife garden. Enchanted Sunburst makes the
perfect patio container plant and they look fabulous planted en
masse in beds and borders. The Enchanted series all grow to a height of 50cm and spread to 45cm. So whatever your planting style, these reliable annuals will fit in perfectly!
Special features which aid growing
The Enchanted series are all propagated by tissue culture so the
plugs are vigorous and uniform and get off to a flying start in their final pots. Most other Rudbeckia hirta types are grown from seed which will never perform quite as well as plants from tissue
culture. So for a grower, the Enchanted series promise a superb final grade-out at despatch.

match the varieties together. They are an amazing magnet for
pollinating insects and the public are now increasingly seeking out plants that are insect friendly. Rudbeckias also make very good cut flowers for indoor use with strong stems and a long vase life.

Plant Name Heuchera villosa Berry Timeless
Entrant Farplants Sales Ltd
Breeder Walters Gardens
Plant Description
This is a revolution in Heuchera genetics! You’ll be amazed at the
unbelievable flower production of ‘Berry Timeless’. A myriad of
light pink flowers which age to a deeper rose red are produced in
tight wands on 45-50cm stems. What is so remarkable is what happens when the flowers are over. Similar to a Statice, the flowers dry in place on the stems instead of falling off and leaving
bare stems. These everlasting flowers were the inspiration behind the name – Timeless. You’ll get a two toned look of light and dark
pink flowers on the same plant for a strong show of colour. Even
better, this plant blooms and re-blooms continuously, not in waves, from early summer to the first frost! The foliage is nicely
marked too to add to the effect and of course like other Heucheras, it is incredibly versatile around the garden in sun or
light shade.
Special features which aid
growing
Like most other Heucheras, plugs come from tissue culture so are virus clean, uniform and vigorous. Therefore, they establish
quickly and will grow in a wide variety of nursery facilities. Heucheras will need less watering than many other plants and
slug and snail damage won’t be a problem.
Special features which benefit
the consumer
Berry Timeless offers gardeners a very long period of interest each year with flowering for months and almost year round foliage
appeal. So it represents very good value for money. Its versatility
around the garden means that Berry Timeless can be grown
almost anywhere – in sun or light shade and also in containers. Heucheras are also quite drought tolerant, once established, and are generally untouched by slugs and snails. So this variety would
be perfect for new gardeners.

Breeder Biotope 45
Plant Description
There are lots of Lavenders on the market to choose from but
what makes Blue Jeans stand out from the rest is its unusually
long flowering period – from mid-summer through to autumn. The
high-impact, deep violet flower heads appear just above fabulous neat, compact, grey-green foliage. Flowering at 40cm high, Blue Jeans makes a perfect container plant with months of patio
interest each year and also works well as a very decorative dwarf hedge. Being an ‘English Lavender’ it is reliably hardy across the
UK, given good drainage and full sun. And of course Lavenders are
very tactile to help with wellbeing and they are fantastic for bees and other pollinators too.
Special features which aid growing
Our Nursery reports that Blue Jeans is great to grow because it has such a naturally free-branching habit so requires less trimming
through its development. And it looks to have a healthy
constitution too so we expect a very good final grade-out.
Special features which benefit
the consumer
An extended flowering period is a major step forward for
Lavenders which have normally finished flowering by the end of
August. Being naturally very free-branching and compact, Blue Jeans is likely to stay looking good in the garden for years longer than a great many other varieties. The strong flower colour really stands out compared to a lot of existing varieties, many of which
have quite pale flowers. Lavenders are aromatic and very tactile
so they can help with wellbeing and they are fantastic for bees
and other pollinators too.

Breeder Pépinières Choteau
Plant Description
Cherry enthusiast and Belgian nurseryman Benoit Choteau raised this
divine cultivar from seed of the diminutive Japanese alpine cherry
Prunus nipponica var. kurilensis (or a cultivar thereof). The pollen
parent is unknown. The habit is upright-rounded and compact, with slender branches carrying great numbers of elegant lilac-pink semi-double flowers,
fading to pastel-pink. Just before senescing, the white anther filaments turn pink.
The blossoms emerge over a period of weeks beginning in mid-March.
They are followed by petite deep green, serrate leaves with bronze undersides. New spring growth emerges red. The bark develops a
lovely shiny chestnut-brown coloration with age, similar to that of the Japanese alpine cherry. In autumn, the healthy foliage turns a good
orange.
Special features which aid growing
Given the seed parent, the somewhat campanulate blossom emerges relatively early in the year.
Special features which
benefit the consumer
This cultivar ‘ticks every box’ and is a superb choice for all garden
sizes. As it becomes better known and more widely available, it is
likely to become very popular indeed.
Additional remarks No problems noticed during our plant trials.

birch rust.
Special features which
benefit the consumer
Few birches offer such a stunning rich cinnamon brown bark that is
healthy, smooth to the touch with most attractive horizontal golden lenticel markings. The bark starts to peel at an early age. Resistant to birch rust.
