Parents died when he was 10 years old.
At 12 years old he was appointed the queen’s messenger in the royal court.
While in the royal court Ferdinand Magellan learned about explorers and important information about navigating ships.

On this voyage, Ferdinand Magellan took five ships. The Trinidad, San Antonio, Victoria, Santiago, and the Concepcion.
One of the problems on the ships were that they had to eat rats on the ship for food.
Sadly, most of the crew died from scurvy.
