Case story, Basement tanking

Al Fardan Twin Towers are two very prestigious towers lo-cated in West Bay,Dafna, one of the most important and new commercial areas in Doha, Qatar. This particular state-of-the-art project comprises a 40-story residential tower (177 m), a 30 floor office tower and a mall that links the two towers at their bases. This project was completed in 2005, and was the first out of seventeen similar projects in this area for SealEco. The Al Fardan Twin Towers were completed in 2007.

The two towers are rested on a concrete foundation 15 meter under ground. During the whole installation the concrete foundation was drained by several pumps to prevent the groundwater from penetrating the concrete. In Qatar, you will meet the groundwater already on a depth of 1 meter, so at 15 meters depth the pressure is very high.The membrane which was to be installed needed to resist 12 bars pressure and that was the main reason the client chose the Elastoseal EPDM membrane from SealEco.

During the installation, SealEco´s own supervisor assisted in problem solving and regular inspections to control that the membrane was installed in a correct way.
